Basic simple recording program for HDHomerun?

Anyone have any experience with or know of a super simple basic program for using HDHomerun to record, pretty much function like a basic VCR (time, date, channel)? I have Win7 but hate WMC, don't really need electronic programming guide and such. There used to be a basic recording utility for OSX for HDHomerun, but I haven't found a similar counterpart in Windows.
Just to reiterate, not looking for SageTV, Mediaportal, anything like that, just a basic utility to schedule recordings.

This wiki has a few you can look at, few are free, but will get you started.

Although you're not looking for the EPG, WMC, does allow you to setup recordings based on channel, time, and date, like the old VCRs. It's been a while since I used it, but it's in the schedule recordings area.

My problem is I hate the file format WMC saves in. HDHomerun by default saves the file as a .ts file. Very basic, easy to edit.

Yeah, I checked those out, they tend to be more work than I'm looking for. I plan on running this simple back end type recording setup from another PC via Remote Desktop.

Thank anyway. I'll check on SiliconDust's forum, maybe someone there has something basic.

I bought a HD HomeRun and ended up taking a $20 hit on it by RMAing it. Pointing out the lack of basic PVR software for it raised a lot of vitriol in this post: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1263798 . That was six months ago, I see it hasn't changed much. I ended up getting a Hauppauge tuner and use the WinTV app that came with it. Records to a .TS file that doesn't need prying out of M$oft's proprietary container and hasn't missed a beat.

I wasn't aware you're looking to get away from the WTR files. There are programs to convert them to MPEG4, but that's another step, and not what you're seeking.

Maybe you might be able to download that app, and see if it works with HDHomerun; if you can't download, maybe someone has a copy they'll let you use.

Although, I'm not aware of Sikicondust ever including any kind of PVR software. And the QuickTV is only for Windows.

The software Video Redo make editing any type of mpeg 2 video extremely easy.

Silicondust has a command line program to control the hdhomerun. I use it in my project and it works very well. I use the linux version. I think you might need to compile it for windows. Check their web site under Support->Downloads.

Yeah, they have the same thing for windows, no compiling needed.

I considered using CLI with windows scheduler....which will start the recording, but the only way I know of to end the recording is CTRL-C. CLI doesn't feature a timed recording, ie just recording for 30 minutes. There is a script based program called Record_This, but it will certainly require some homework to get it working. I found something else similar, but after installing Python, I found out I had to install something else, and looking at that other dependency it looks like I will need to compile it probably....more time than I was hoping to spend. I will probably spend some time with the Record_This program.

What does the Cliff Watson add on do? It apparently now covers HDHR too.
