But when your rate card depends on eyeballs (well, ok, potential eyeballs), it just seems suicidal to expect retrans-consent to save you. ESPECIALLY when you already know the biggest cable company is going to drop you if you go that route.
Me, if I have a full-power station, but don't have big 4 network programming, I'm going to elect must-carry. Even if all I have on it is "Watching Paint Dry 24/7." Actually, especially if that's all I have.
Look, I understand that folks love the retro shows. A few folks. I like 'em, too, in some cases. But it ain't a big audience.
Must-carry just cries out "elect me!" Lowell didn't... and my thought is that it will hurt badly. There's just no incentive for cable/satellite companies to pay WPGA for carriage.
