PS3 3D glasses any good?

Thread Starter
I've heard that the Sony PS3 3D glasses work with the new Sony, Epson and Panasonic projectors. Are these glasses any good?
I have 2 pair and I think that they are really good, but I don't have much to compare them to. They work with my Panasonic Plasma, are only about $50 right now, and are much more durable than the Panny glasses.

Honestly, I am curious to see how the PQ holds up vs. Blick and Panasonic Glasses/.

Works w/ my 42GT30. Limited experience w/ 3D and not able to compare w/ other compatible glasses. Got them as they were cheaper than others.

Correction: ST30

I bought 2 pair to use with my Epson 3010 projector. They work great but with one caveat; they kill the bridge of your nose after an hour or so...

Would you say the Pic quality is about the same as your Panasonic glasses?

where can you find them for $50 ?
I was about ask the same question about these glasses whether they reduce crosstalk. Product details claim less crosstalk and ghosting. $50 on Amazon and Gamestop.

I don't know, I had my Panasonic Glasses for all of 30 seconds before they broke. I returned my lone pair of Panny glasses and bought 2 pair of Sony PS3 glasses a couple of days later.

My only complaint about the PS3 glasses is that the inside of the lenses are very reflective and you can see any light source that is behind you. They are also very thick and durable.

I was looking for a less expensive alternative myself.
Are the ps3 3d glasses the best bang for the buck?

I would say so for $50 and compatible with most active tv sets.

I bought 2 pairs at Best Buy for that price yesterday.

I just bought two pairs for $45 each to go with the 55ST30 being delivered to me on Thursday. I was looking for the Panny glasses, but they're sold out everywhere in my city.

Dojoman if you grab a pair for your nx810 please let us know if you saw any improvement in crosstalk. I'm not purchasing any more glasses until I find out what they are doing about my set.

They work with the 2010 Samsung TV's also, correct? I have a 55C7000 LED. I'm looking for a new pair of 3D glasses that I can charge and is comfortable. How are these comfort wise? I hate the ones that came with the Samsung Starter Kit.

I'm debating between these or a generic of-brand pair.

Just tried these glasses. I fired up a scene I saw in Avatar with crosstalk and its the same with the new glasses. They do not improve crosstalk. But these glasses have filter built-in, if you tilt your head you don't loose 3D effects where as the older glasses lose 3d effects. I find the glasses to be better quality with nicer frame and buttons. No issue with comfort. Thumbs up for me!

Are you comparing these to the br-100 or the br-250?

br-250 I also have br100. Not only that I tried Monstervision 3d but return them. None of them improve crosstalk. I bought PS glasses since I needed another pair. For $50 I think it's a bargain compared to other pairs that I have.

Btw, you have nx810 too? Sony service took yours for testing crosstalk? I think nx810 are not good 3d tv. I have horrible crosstalk with games. Movies seem ok, some here and there but games are no good. I stopped playing in 3d altogether.

Yeah they still have my tv. If I wake up early enough tomorrow I may call and see where they are with the repair. Being that the ps3 glasses appear to have the filter included in them do you feel they are darker than the 250's? When I put the filters in my 100's there was definite decrease in brightness

I think they are crap. I'm actually looking for a better pair to work with my set.

Brightness is the same as without filter.

Why do you think they are crap?

EBGames.ca has them for $50.

There was also a $5 off promo code I was able to use on my order. I ended up creating two orders so I could use the coupon twice, and shipping was free. The coupon expired on the 7th though.

TONS of crosstalk. Reflection when wearing them. You can see light behind you from inside the glasses. Overall fit isn't the best either. I've worn much better fitting ones then these. There super cheap for a reason.

I agree with you on the reflection part. You can almost see behind you.

well, crosstalk you can blame on your TV. If your tv has crosstalk no glasses will improve it. But from the sound of it you're saying glasses increase crosstalk? I've never heard of that. I agree the reflection inside the glasses but my other pairs have the same issue. fit is no problem and I have normal head. Not sure about big head people.

I've tried other glasses that have seemed to reduce the crosstalk. I've been playing in the 3D display Sony sells. 3D is not its strong point. You get a great effect. But as I said. You get a TON of crosstalk. I plan to try a higher priced pair from Panasonic and Samsung. Whichever reduces it more will be there winner. If either even reduces it.

if you found a pair that reduce crosstalk then report back which brand. So far I tried all Sony ones and Monstervision 3D. None of them do much.

With regards to the playstation 24 led 3d display

Adjusting brightness to 100 and contrast to 90 virtually eliminates crosstalk/ghosting in all low to medium contrast content, and makes it barely noticeable in high contrast content. Low to zero backlight likely help the shutter glasses block more in their dark state.

FYI these are now $39.99 at bestbuy.com....I ordered 2 pairs
