PS3 media server issues

Thread Starter
I have been using my ps3, medialink software and my iMac for two years as a great media server. The iMac has been flawlessly wirelessly (through my airport extreme base station) sending my avi, mp4, etc over to my ps3 to play on my hdtv.
Really no problems until yesterday.
Now all I get is stuttering. No explaination at all. Software up to date, worked all the time before, reset the ps3, mac, reinstalled the software nothing is helping at all.

Does anyone have an ideas?
It's a frustrating issue!

Thanks
JU

Any possibility of a new appliance/cordless phone/microwave interfering with the wireless signal? Has there been a recent firmware update on any of the equipment? (Any set to do automatic updates?)

No new appliances, nothing has changed in my setup that I can find.

Like I said it all worked fine two days ago.

Very lost!

Is it possible a neighbour close by either bought a new router, or changed the settings on their existing router so that its interfering with your wi-fi signal? It might be worthwhile to do a wi-fi scan to find out what connections are out there, and compare their channel settings to your own.

Wireless headphones maybe. A friend of mine was having trouble connecting his new network capable Blu ray player in the bedroom with wi-fi. Turned out to be RF wireless headphones interfering with the wi-fi. Maybe a neighbor if you live in an apt. building.
