I think we have to be careful not to fight the wrong battle here. Everyone keeps calling for the
old site. Truth be told, there was nothing particularly
special about the old site; except that it
worked, and it's what we were
used to.
For me...rather than simply getting back to what we were used to, it's more important to me that the "new Audiogon"
work! Sure, there's something a little off-putting...that I can't quite put my finger on... about the way the thing
looks; but that's small potatoes. It's all about the new site not being easy to navigate, not searching in a way that's useful; making communications and transactions nearly impossible, and
that...ultimately...driving traffic down, which makes selling less appealing.
I'm all for some of the new features they're trying to implement; and listen, it was inevitable that they'd do what they can, to try and collect as much of the revenue due to them as possible. You'll never see me blame someone for trying to earn a living, and last time I checked...no one liked working for free. It's just these changes shouldn't come at the
expense of the site being usable.
If all we keep doing is asking for the old site back, I'm afraid that's never going to happen...and as such, will fall on deaf ears. Ask for the new site to be
fixed!
