I bought a NAD C356BEE amplifier for $800 based on the experience I have had in the past with NAD amplifiers. I had 3020 amplifiers years ago and currently have a C325BEE at my other house in the den, and no problems; good sound.
Unfortunately, it seems to me that they dropped the ball on the C356BEE; it sounds OK in the midrange and treble, but it has very poor bass; it sounds like it may be current-shy in the power supply or something. Hell, maybe it actually has a bad diode or cap in there or something...doubtful, but I guess I should get it on the bench and fire up my scope, I guess.
Anyway, I upgraded to a Musical Fidelity M3i and it is 100% better. Now I have the 356BEE sitting here and I hate to sell it to anyone until I bench-test it. $800 shot to hell!
Well, that's my sad story on that NAD.
The 650A should be good; priced right now.
