I'd like to setup a "mixing pipeline" completely contained within a PC (Windows or Linux). From the PC, the audio out would then go to my receiver/amp/subwoofers/speakers.
I figure the pipleline would be something like this:
PC Hardware: [Audio Input Board] -> [Audio Mixer Software]
PC Software: [Karaoke App / Music Player App] -> [Audio Mixer Software]
PC Software: [Audio Mixer Software] ->
PC Hardware: [Sound Card] -line out/SPDIF/HDMI/RCA->
Hardware: [Receiver] ->
Hardware: [Speaker/Subwoofer]
I would appreciate help on product/solution/system idea for the PC Software/Hardware portions.
For Audio Input Board, I figure any USB capable Behringer, Mackie, etc. would suffice?
For Audio Software Mixer, this is the piece that I think needs to control the "upgrade path". Ie. adding FX, pitch changer, store/recall settings, etc.
Essentially, I would like to use my PC for as much work of the pipleline as possible. However, if there is a better pipeline, please share.
Thanks...
