Suggestions for my Layout

I am looking for a soundbar for my living room and am torn. I’d LIKE a soundbar, but I need this great forum’s help advising me if my living room is soundbar-able.

Relative to where the TV is and where the soundbar would be, I am missing a right-side wall.

My budget is about $0-$1,500.

I’m looking for a soundbar that will sound surround. I know it won’t be nearly as good as a true system, but I want it to be in the ballpark.

I listened to the Bose CineMate 1 SR at Fry’s, and I was impressed with how much it fooled me into thinking there were other speakers on. Davyo’s review seems to be glowing as well.

I’m just worried about my missing side wall. The answer might be that I need to get a multi-speaker set up. However, I would like to keep the wires and clutter to a minimum in my living room. With the Bose, there is a wireless sub, receiver is not required, and the speaker is slim.

I’m not sure if this is a gimmick, but the 1 SR also claims to “adapt” to any environment with it’s sound IQ or something. Hopefully it’s true because that bodes well for my no side wall issue.

Thanks for the reply lj. I am 95% sure that I'll just be getting a receiver with Energy Take Classic 5.1 speakers. I just have to figure out a way to set it up cleanly without wires showing.

Is that like a wireless dongle? I've read that the sound quality will not be optimized going this route. What about running FlatWire around the left wall?
