Sharp 80" pricing - Page 6

Cash in Hand just waiting NOW !
Ordered a few nights ago from US-A, and still have no shipping confirmation

Perhaps they underestimated what they had in stock, so I may be getting one from the new batch!

Either way, I'm EXCITED!

Call them and find out. At least that way you'll know what's going on.

they haven't had stock all week so if you placed your order a few nights ago, it will probably go out when the new shipment arrives. I was told deliveries from today's shipment should go out Monday or Tuesday of next week. You should get a shipping confirmation at that time. I placed my order yesterday and was told mine would go out next Tuesday.

getting this from the Brick for 4300, they're telling me it MUST be transported upright. They said because of the pressure of the thin screen or something. Doesn't make sense to me, I should be able to put this in my pickup and go right??

Ya gotta ship/transport up-right or you risk breaking the glass screen .
Glass when placed horizontally flexes up & down @ the slightest bump & that will cause the glass screen to fail .Horizontal lying glass has just so many cycles of the up/down action before the unseen faults in the pane start to fracture , it will fail even at very slight up/downs after a certain point .
If you do pick up in your P/U truck just secure it so that it standing up , much like you would if you were carrying a motorcycle . break the screen on the way home you are Toast for the damage . be careful !

I think you would be taking one hell of a chance transporting it yourself. It's a risk I personally wouldn't take.

Fry's B&M stores REQUIRE delivery on the 80" and the 70" Sharp sets...

They had been charging $70 + $1.50 per mile beyond 20 miles from the store. In todays sale, they are now touting "FREE LOCAL DELIVERY"!

ps. Today they are quoting $3,999 + Tax a saving of over $690 compared to yesterdays price ($4,569 + $69.99 delivery + sales tax on both $382.72 = $5021.71 minus ($3,999 + 329.92). Savings $ Tempted...

Congrats!

I just got mine delivered an hour ago. The shipper was Pilot and (at least in front of me) treated it like it was their own. Also, they called ahead and kept me informed during the day of their schedule to get it to me.

SOO? what's your initial visual impact on your set ? Is it Jaw dropping?

Pilot has Delivered my last 3 Sharps & those guys are the best .

Now I just have to reconfigure my set-up(cabinet) OR go with a wall mount
I think I might need a wall mount but one that swivels & tilts that way I can get the best viewing angle for the 2 recliners .

the guy buying my 60" is Jazzed as well .............

had check the site hourly in the last 2 days Finally they had them in stock !!
ThanX Agin dot19408 for the heads-up....

Congrats!

I was in the same boat couple days ago checking the site and worrying they may not restock and the deal was off. I called yesterday and the salesman checked the inventory for me and said they are coming in today. He went ahead and took my order by phone early so i was guaranteed a set.

Still can't believe how good this deal is, $3697 delivered! Just 6 months ago, if you wanted something bigger than 70" the cheapest set in the market was the Panasonic for $15k - $20k!!

I still say this set will hit 3k even by the end of the year

No, I don't think that is going to happen. I think dealer cost was around $3200 There was not huge excess inventory to begin with and the new model with 3D is only a few months away. That model may hit $3K at the end of the year, but I think this year model will be out of inventory once they blow them out at 3400-3500 this month.

still in stock @ US-Appliance
3,697.00 free shipping ,no sales tax ,30 return policy,30 day price matching ......
it's a no brainer .... AVS members here already have theirs & are quite Happy with US-Appliance
I couldn't get BB to even get anywhere near that price here in the SF Bay Area as they are selling alot of them they don't want to discount .. Sears is sold out locally here as well .
in my daily searches the On-Line Reseller's prices have been inching up in the last few weeks

Initial Impression = wow! Nice picture Q.

I didn't think it would be this good after seeing things at a couple of stores. I set it up from post #150 in the other thread and it's pretty close but needs to be adjusted. It's miles better however than out of the box. Now, back to TV!

If anyone has any setup suggestions better than post #150 let me know. This setup is a bit dark for my taste but other than that it's nice.

Yup, tried em but it wasnt exactly too my taste. Perhaps I'm looking for something a bit brighter (I'm working on things in a bright daylit room) but 1 thing, they are a hell of an improvement over the default.

For me this TV is almost like the first time I saw HD. Pretty outstanding but that's compared to my 5yo or 6yo Sony 60" LCD. Its a good excuse to go back to the old movies for another watch.

yeah i'm on the phone right now getting this one...................................Sanus System XF228-B1

http://www.jr.com/cat/pe/SSY_XF228B1
it's pricey but J&R has a deal on them
AND it has tilt ,extend, swivels, & most important to me it pans as in the mount will slide side to side so I can position the centering at will for seating of guests .
finger tip touch as the wife needs that with her bad back
$ 325 retails for +$600

Video here on how it works
