Is Oak technology legit and an authorized reseller? They have the 80le632u for 3600 shipped right now.

Thanks, dk

Best I could find is East Coast for $3900 only until this weekend. Looks like I missed all the good deals, maybe wait for 4th of July sales. Anyone see this lower please keep us posted.

Not even sure how legit East Coast is either.

East Coast is legit. While I didn't buy a TV from them, I did buy a Weber grill and my experience was positive. After you place an order they'll call you to try to add on some extras, but you can decline all that with no trouble. In my case, I accepted the shipping insurance, which even with the 1%, still made the total price of the grill a lot less than anywhere else. I've heard that you can decline the shipping insurance too, but I can't verify that as I didn't know that at the time.

Oak Technology?
Been shopping on-line for over 15 years and a retired Purchasing Manager for IT and Electronics for an Enterprise Network and have never heard of this company and not listed on Resellerratings.com or via even Google Search. Nothing turns up on such a company for the sale of Consumer electronics.

Steer clear if you cannot find feedback on the site. If the deal seems to good to be true it usually is.smile.gif

Hi guys,

Stumbled across this forum while searching for Sharp 80" info. I'm looking to purchase the 844. Obviously I missed out on that $4499 Fry's deal. Best I've been able to do is a BB for 4999, but they can't even order it until mid-July. Anyone have any good pricing leads in the Northern California area?

Thanks!

I think Westa also meant oaktechnology.net. They don't look like a trusted seller by any definition I know of. And you?

Anyone who would let someone decline insurance is just looking for trouble. eek.gif

FYI Seattle Costco 80-632 $2900 better hurry!
Anyone hear about any upcoming July 4th sales yet?
Everyone seems to be right around 4k for the 632. East coast has it for 3875 but I'm a little skeptical about them even though they seem legit. The lowest it seems was US appliance which is out of stock with a waiting list and they might not even get anymore who knows. I might just pull the trigger for one at 4k, I'm sick of waiting for a good deal. I missed the Sears deal and when US Appliance had stock so now I think were screwed unless you want to wait for prices to maybe drop at the end of the year.
Why would some Costco stores have a price of $2900 and others still sell it for $4500?
Is there a way to price match within costco?

Just picked up the last one our Sam's Club had for the Costco price. The sales guy told me they were not going to be carrying them any more. Apparently they weren't selling very well.
Glad I waited. Now to calibrate with the setting posted previously and order a wall mount.
I'm excited.

My Sam' Club previously had at least four TV's out on the floor in boxes, but only had the display model left now. They have a price of $3954 on it. I asked to speak with the manager who confirmed they weren't selling, but disputes the Costco price. They won't take nothing less then the marked priced for the display model. I was prepared to carry it out of the store, but if I have to pay sales tax that is definitely not a deal. mad.gif

My Sams club tonight only had the 633U in stock, no more 632s. ugh....... I'd imagine the 633us will come down eventually, so I'll wait.

regards,

Dale

East coast isn't bad, but I have a 63 inch, so I'm in no rush. It would be nice to get low 3k for this thing.

Here is a pic of the Costco tag, maybe this will help with your price match at Sam's. I was able to get mine matched with my 90 day price protection where I purchased. YMMV...

Thanks!

I went by Sears yesterday, and they said they have them at their local warehouse for a July 3rd delivery for $3945. I went to Best Buy just after that and asked what kind of deal can I get on their $4495 price. They went to their computer and told me they can price match local prices and gave me a price of $3909, and I can go pick it up myself from their local warehouse today (Sunday). I asked for a better deal, so the manager came to speak with me. I had dealings with him before last November, after which I vowed never to shop there again, which I hadn't. He spewed the same nonsense that ticked me off before. I asked for a deal to compensate for the 8% sales tax so I wouldn't have to order from the Internet. He tells me I have to pay any sales tax when I report it on my State tax return, so I'm not saving anything from ordering over the web. In November in called me a tax cheat if I didn't give my State their due for any internet purchases I made throughout the year where I wasn't charged sales tax.

Sam's Club claimed they reduced their floor model from $4495 to $3954. I'm going to go back there to see if they will drop the price by the same amount from the Best Buy $3909 new in the box price. But if I can order from US Appliance or other source for about $3600, which is about the price I could get it from Sam's, not including tax, I'd rather buy new and save $300. Sticking an 80" TV back in the box brings the value down to about $3000 for me.

For those still on the fence, US Appliance has the 80" back in stock as of this morning. I just ordered mine at the $3697 price. Not sure if they had it before, but the shipping is free. I opted for the $149 White Glove Service, since I don't have anyone to help me get that huge box into my basement HT.

Are they a authorized dealer? No problems getting the warranty through sharp? No delivery nightmares?
Ordered. Can't wait now.

Well, I decided to buy an 844 today and apparently they no longer exist except as floor models. I checked with Bestbuy.com beforehand to make sure they had them in stock and of course most of the stores in the area say they do. However, if you actually go into the store they only have the floor model and even the warehouse has none, nor any idea when they can even order one. I then checked with Fry's, which also lists them in stock, but after actually calling the store find that they too only have a single floor model.

I would order one from East Coast except that I travel for a living and am only home weekends and Fridays usually. Guess it is time to start checking out other TVs since Sharp apparently doesn't stock their retailers any more.
