What is your point? This thing IS still broke! Wow, what did the last few betas fix a whopping four minor issues? Four minor issues in the last month??

Until this thing out-performs the xbox 360 as advertised, Ceton deserves all the negative nancy's out there that paid good money for this thing...

I recently bought a PS3 to catch up on the exclusives I missed. Though this I discovered PS3 Media Server - which despite its name also works with the XBOX360 quite well. The transcoding of unsupported formats looks very good to my eye.

Is there any way to access a DLNA server on the Echo? Maybe a plugin I don't know about? It isn't ideal, but better than nothing. It would be *really* nice if there was a way to do it from Media Browser.

There's a plugin that does just that called tubeCore. I don't have much experience with it myself though.

The f/w updates and changelogs are posted at ceton's forums on TheGreenButton.

I do still have this issue... But I am sure it will be corrected soon.

I only see a few threads started by users that don't contain any changelogs. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

The issue with the preview window was reported early on in the beta but there's been more pressing things to fix. It is a matter of priority.

You are correct and I am sorry for misleading. It was over on the ceton echo beta forum that the changelogs were posted. This should be added as a sticky on TheGreenButton by ceton for sure.

Yep - no worries on this from me at all!

I have a 5 year old Panny Plasma. It is 720P. It will accept 720P, 1080i or 1080P input, even 1080P 24. It actually looks better with 1080i or P input than 720P. It is weird situation because the panel is 1366x768 but it will not accept the panels native resolution as an input. Which makes it a bad match for HTPC.

Hahaha... let me be the first if someone didn't beat me to it. SOME of my problem videos were fixed by the latest beta, but some HBO shows still look pretty awful.

You should have been in the original Alpha, or what they called beta, testing. You don't have to ask me twice to jump on board with that statement.
Mine is unpluged right now, i want to see if I miss it. If I don't I will return it and put the proceeds towards another 4gb slim.

I still have faith in the echo. There should be another omega soon with a beta to follow. I get good playback when it doesn't have issues with audio or EDID but the PQ is very good.

After one night of watching, so far, the latest beta is very stable for me. The picture quality is excellent and native is performing as it should. While it is not perfect, this is a big step forward and I look forward to the new things coming.

Any idea when? Are you aware of changes / improvements???

Not too much but this is the changelog I have:

- updated copyright to 2013
- made installer more resilient to media center apps that corrupt registry
- fixed issue where some users can't see addin

I am running this as an omega right now but I didn't have issues with the stable release that I know of.

I've been following this thread for a while and seriously, I wish people would take a drag on a cigarette or whatever they need to do to relax. Yeah, you've spent money on a product with a lot of promise. I understand that when you purchase something, you expect it to work. I have the Echo because I want it to do one simple thing, and that's feed my HTPC experience to my bedroom. I have another HP extender that this is replacing because A.) It's supported, B.) It's smaller (I'm a bit of a minimalist), and C.) It doesn't turn itself on in the middle of the night so that I have to fumble around for a remote in the dark, dazed and confused. Yeah, I wish the menu scrolling was as smooth as it is on the XBox and I don't understand why some videos taken with my DSLR work perfectly whereas others produce only audio, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I get that the XBox has a smoother performance and better file support, but understand that Microsoft has had a LOOOOONG time to make this experience work and integrate it. After all, the XBox and WMC are both Microsoft products and they have virtually unlimited resources both financially and in manpower, and they're not exactly making it easy for anyone else to work with them at the moment.

My Echo works perfectly in feeding my TV, pictures, and music back to my bedroom and I understand that's not the case for everyone, but for The. Love. Of. God., people... RELAX and let the people at Ceton do their job!

Got ya - mine is stable as well. The only thing I have noticed is the last letter in some of the wording is chopped off... Other than that, it works just fine.

I have to say that I am impressed with the improvements that I have seen. Coming from a SageTV box (64 bit Ubuntu Server) with three of the HD300 extenders, I had my concerns but now things are looking up and I think moving in the right direction for sure!

Does Ceton have a place to submit bug reports directly? I posted the preview windows bug a page back with a picture, but no one confirmed or replied to it. I'd like to send it directly to Ceton. I suppose I could open a ticket.

Thanks Motz. Cannot wait to try 2013.122.1356 (Improved handling of audio errors) tonight when I get home. Michael already informed me earlier today that my echo MAC ID would get it today.

I just realized something in the 1219 f/w that is of interest. It says, "Only output at modes supported by the TV".

My echo is going through my AVR via HDMI to my HDTV via HDMI. My HDTV supports all refresh rates and my AVR is set for i/p upscaling. So what does the echo read in this set up? The TV or the AVR? I do see the TV re-syncing even though it is going to 1920x1080 each time even for 720p and 1080i content because the AVR is upscaling it to 1080p. Is this occuring because in native mode the AVR is catching the signal from echo because it has been switched to differing resolutions?

My only other issues are the interface is a bit laggy, not smooth like my Xbox and I'm having an issue where the audio skips. Almost like a cellphone breaking up. I've joined up over at Green Button, so I'll follow up there.

I turned off the animation and now the interface is very quick.....

This omega f/w is smooth as silk. Running in native mode with AC-3 and I did numerous system shut downs, including over night with no green monster or audio drop outs or chipmonk voices. The video is incredible now too. Every bit as good as my GT-430 puts out for CableTV.
