very interesting, i hope to have more comparison and videos soon

if i bought 2 Q5s to make 1 picture, will the picture be full HD and 1000 lumens? it is a good choice to make polarized 3D too.

One side by side comparaison between the Q5 (left) and the Q2 (right) :

The Q5 picture is the brightest and sharpest.

:)At last, after a long period of time waiting for someone who give us an idea on how this Qumi Q5 perform, it came. Thanks for the video post.
It's also possible to use the Q5 in Holidays with the additionnal external battery and I add also some pics from the wifi dongle (this is the Q2 version, the Q5 dongle will come out in black).

Looks good, might be something to add for one of my rooms

@kraine
Thanks for posting, would you please compare fan noise of Q5 vs Q2?
The Q5 make less noise than the Q2, but it's still not a quiet projector.
How's the performance of Qumi Q5 compared to the 4 clones? Does anybody here made a subjective comparison?
Jesus someone post a video or take some decent pics. I about to say fuk it and get a PK330.
PIXMANIA.be using Google Adwords to deceive buyers into purchasing the Qumi Q2 instead of the Qumi Q5. BE-AWARE!

When you do a Google search for "Qumi Q5" you get the following results. Notice the 2nd sponsored link is "PIXMANIA" once you click on it, it takes you to their website and directly to this http://*******.com/93rxd2j (second image) . What is more deceiving is that nowhere it states whether this is a Q2 or the Q5 anywhere, the only to to know is by comparing the specs such as the ANSI between the old and the new version. This is very unprofessional marketing and PIXMANIA and should be addressed immediately. PIXMANIA should fire whoever is behind this scam if it considers itself a reputable company.

The Ad (model completely hidden)

The specs = Q2

Yeah, we won't really get a clear idea of the Q5 performance until enough regular users start reporting, particularly users who know what to look for based on the shortcomings of previous LED projectors.

I would really like to see a Q5 vs LG PA70G shoot-out.

I think that isn't fair comparison, since LG PA70G has 700 lumens, whereas Qumi Q5 has only 500 lumens. Maybe LG PA60G the (smaller brother) could be
the best rival since they have the same lumens.

Good luck man! I hope it's worthy of all the hype. I am gonna wait for your review before I decide between the Q5 and the 4 clones.

Anyone know what's the size and weight of the power brick?

Something I love from my K330 is that the PS is integrated into the PJ. It's really handy and would miss that.

How is the K330? I'm starting to have doubts about the Q5. My biggest concern is the build quality and since I live in EU, the return/exchange/repair policies are much different than the US, you are basically stuck with it the moment you walk out the door. That brings me to this, how would you rate the K330? I'm not a big fan of Acer, but I saw it for the first time and I was amazed by the build quality. That was out of the box, display model and turned off so I'm not sure about the rest. Right now, it's 500 euros and the Q5 is 540. I'm having a killer time trying to decide whether I should go for the K330 or the ML500 or wait for a Q5 review. Thoughts?

Neither have high lumens.

I wish I could tell you more about the K330 but my impressions are just with the size and just 15 minutes of poorly arranged viewing. I gave it as a gift to my brother who is going to study abroad on Erasmus and couldn't play with it.
I watched 10 minutes of Hell On Wheels on BluRay and I have to say that for such a small size I was astonished. So much, that I'm going to get another one for me.

Build quality looks pretty good. And as I previously said, having the power supply in the device is a plus for me. I get some might think otherwise and that having it detached is good since there is less heat. But I want portability and _for me_ that's the best form factor.
I intend to have it in my room when I'm at home and take it away on weekends and such, and can't think of a way to set it up where the power brick eases things.

On the other hand, I don't know where you are based, but here in Spain I just got it for 467€ and it looks like there are similar deals all around europe.
Not as good prices as some of the deals you can get in the US but good enough for me smile.gif

I have a Q5 which got delivered yesterday in UK (from Lambda-tek.com), I don't have any other projector to compare it too though unfortunately so I'm pretty much comparing to my TV, but first Impressions are It's pretty amazing for how small it is!
It's great for watching TV, but you need the room fairly dark.
Negatives that I have noticed are that it's quite noisy - and in 'Bright' picture mode the fan is really noisy (note this is not Eco vs Normal mode) it also has a low power mode, no idea what this does though as seems to make no difference.
I'm only projecting onto my wall which is kind of eggshell white and slightly glossy at about 80 inch picture, and I noticed that the blacks are not very black (in all light conditions), and it struggles with dark scenes in general (Maybe an issue with all pico projectors?, contrast ratio too low?)
It also get's fairly hot, i have a metal USB stick which i used to plug in a film, and that was really hot to touch after 20 minutes.
Minor gripes, also it comes with a case for the projector but not case for the power pack.
I've not seen any rainbow effects or soft focus patches.
PC text also seems fairly readable.
