Not sure if this is the best subforum to post. If there is a more appropriate one let me know!!

Construction is underway on the house addition. Attached is a plan showing my future, ideal setup. The various components will be added over time as budget allows, but obviously I need to wire for the future now during construction.

Right now all I have is a HDTV and a cheap sound bar.

Here is what I ultimately want:
5.1 surround in TV/movie viewing area
Good music listening in entire room
Small HDTV in bar area (separate cable box)
Small HDTV on outside patio (separate cable box)
Outdoor appropriate speakers for outside patio ideally Zone 2 for separate music control
Ability to play iTunes in either Zone

What I dont know is:
Should I hard wire Ethernet (Cat 5 or 6?) to my router and if so for what components? In other words how many runs/ports should I run to the entertainment area? Should I plan on a connection each for TV, AVR, Blu-ray, iTunes (AppleTV)? How do I tie all these systems together?

Should I run speaker wire to multiple locations for subwoofer placement options or dual subs if I find the need?

How do I get iTunes to play in either Zone 1 or 2? Should I look at options other than iTunes for music, video, and photo streaming? Is Apple TV (Airplay) really the best option here since I am starting from scratch and can hard wire rather than wireless?

What should I be looking for in a AVR that can handle all this?

Thanks!
