I live in a small nyc apartment so I'm not looking for a huge woofer. My budget is $300. I am looking for a 10" woofer. I've been looking at Emotiva Ultra 10 and Velodyne impact 10. Can anyone suggest a sub for me?

many thanks

Music? Movies? Both?

Both for music and movies. With a slight lean towards music.

The Emotiva Ultra 10 is long discontinued. The only 10 inch Emotiva is the $500 X-Ref 10.

I was going to recommend this earlier, but found that it is becoming rather scarce. If someone wants this sub, they best hurry.

You should check the budget subwoofers thread. There are quite a few to choose from.

Thanks for the heads-up. At least with the Energy S10.3 there is at least one professional review...

Hey guys thanks for the suggestions. Upon more thought I'm looking for a more musical sub that is decent enough for HT. Now thinking of Hsu STF-2.

The mentioned Energy sub is just that. However the HSU is an even better choice

How does the Energy S10.3 compare to Energy VSW10?

The VSW10 may be a little more musical, tighter. The S10.3 will go a little deeper in low frequency extension. Since you are leaning a little toward music, what kind of speakers do you have?
