Dual Maelstrom's Sealed

Hey guys!

I have a pair of maelstrom's coming in this week and I plan on running the pair in their own sealed boxes.

My question...what is the most ideal size box to run these in??

Also, from a power standpoint, how much per box can these take?

Thanks!

Ben

7 cubic feet net is around q=0.7. you can go larger or smaller.

i think the rating on them is for 1500 watts, but don't take that to the bank.

7 cubic feet is a perfect size for the mal-x's. I run my 2 off of a bridged ep4000 each.

There is plans for the 7 cf box but I can't seem to find them at the moment. I think they were NeoDans plans.

There are several plans for the Mal-X from NeoDan. The one I have seen the most is NeoDan's EasyButton Max, but this is a ported enclosure for the Maelstrom-X (slot port). N8DOGG is probably referring to Willd's build, which was a sealed Mal-X cube based on Dan's plans.

Gen 2 maelstrom?

I've got mine in a bit over 8.5 cu ft.

Gen 1 or Gen 2 batch>? This does make a difference, as the parameters changed somewhat. I don't have the files at the moment, and would have to check the way back machine for the parameters to simulate in WinISD, but IIRC, the first ones around 6-7 cu ft each.

Ya thats it. I think it came out to 6.2 CF or something like that with driver and brace. I have 4 of them. 2 with 18's and 2 with the mal-x 21's. Both drivers do great. Kevin suggested using that build to me for both, so thats what I built.

yeah sorry Scott I picked em up when I saw them I have been looking to buy a sub and I was going to go for the new Mach 5 18 but I figured I could get two of these for the price of one of those.

I will check on which model they are for sure.

Thanks for the links! I have been looking around trying to see different options and NeoDan's looks pretty cool.

Thanks for the thoughts and idea's!
