The Finder on Fox HD - Page 2

Clearly yet another case of FOX screwing with the original episode order ...

I prefer this show to Bones. Bones has been coasting for a long time now even with the pregnancy. Most of the time it feels like the actors are coasting too.

At least The Finder has some fresher energy.

Zap2it currently predicting a 15% chance of renewal for what is currently the best show on the Fox Network which is 15% higher than my other favorite show, Awake on NBC. I sure know how to pick 'em.

No one's watching, but I've found this show to be improving and entertaining. The ensemble has gotten better and I get a real kick out of Walter.

I like it too, it's one of my favorite network shows on TV currently. Friday nights are never really gonna get much ratings wise, so I'd say they knew before they switched to Friday nights whether the show was coming back or not. I'd really like a good Friday night show, I can't keep up with Fringe and then I run out of DVR space and usually catch up with DVDs later on Fringe.

Here's hoping that they decide to keep Walter around for another season.

LOVE this show. What they should do is order a 13 episode season as a mid-season replacement once Fringe is done with it's 13 episodes. Not sure why the networks don't do more of this, sure works for USA, TNT and other cable nets.

Catching up on the show on my DVR lately and I just got to the episode where they attempt to reunite a family, and the big black dude acts like he's never met Teemu(sic) before. I have no sympathy for the show dying if they're going to show such a lack of respect for the viewer. He's met Teemu on numerous occasions prior. Just stupid.

Typical Fox, they showed episodes out of order. Other then that and a couple inconsistencies with Willa's parole officer it hasn't been that noticeable as most episodes are pretty self contained.

Yep, the previous episode bothered me too. The first half of the season ended with Willa getting close with her parole officer, and then it moves right into an episode with her parole officer treating her like crap. I the leads in the show, but they're being let down by whoever is deciding to order them like this. I'm less invested in the show if you drastically alter the dynamic between characters each week.

GONE bye bye
Which totally sucks. That makes three shows that I liked on Fox this season, gone: Terra Nova, Alcatraz and The Finder.
It's an OK show, but I wont miss it. Well, I'll miss Maddie Hasson's ass. So nice. The producers tried my patience with the stupid switching around of episodes. There can't be character growth like this.
The producers had nothing to do with the order of playback. That was totally decided by the network so-called executives.

What possible reason would an exec have in switching around the order of episodes?
Just finished Bones season 6 and saw the finder episode. I didn't even know it got picked up ah too late.
Damn good question. AFAIK, it has to do with episode content and how they feel it will play out at that particular time. You'd have to ask them why they've screwed with the order.

ABC execs screwed up Body of Proof royally over the two seasons. NBC has aired Awake out-of-sequence as well, but not as bad.
I was concerned with the news that hottie Mercedes Masöhn left the show for another gig. Now it's a moot point.

Many many reasons. From targetting a particular demo that week, to avoiding subject clashes with other topics, advertising and sponsorship wrangling, additional editing, scheduling compatibility ...

Just flip over to USA and watch Fairly Legal. You don't even need to squint that much to get her and Shahi mixed up.

Speaking of USA, 'The Finder' might have been a good fit on USA, maybe Netflix will pick them up, I don't guess it had that much of a following though, probably no cult following like Arrested Development, etc.... I will miss the show.

USA's simple doctrine of commissioning character-based comedy/drama is a good fit for the majority of cancelled network shows. It's a pity that some of them don't go there in the first place.

I have a feeling that The Finder will be more entertaining (or at the least more original) than Common Law which starts on USA tonight. That show is probably a lock-in for two seasons at least.

I like the show, the characters etc, but there was no growth, but that was mainly caused by the inconsistency of how the characters interacted with one another.

Wasn't that addressed previously in the thread by the order in which the episodes were aired.

http://epguides.com/Finder/

Look at the Prod# and their sequence compared to the actual airings of the episodes:

Would a show such as this ever intentionally film the episodes out of order, or is that pretty much all due to network interference?
Enjoyed the finale, I'm definitely gonna miss this show. Tonight's finale could have opened up a whole new direction for the show, but alas we'll never know.
I concur about the finale. I had no idea it would be done this way. All principals had different things occur to them--the marshal had to hand in her badge, the Finder was tossed in jail, the gypsy hit the road to escape a forced marriage and the lawyer more or less stayed status quo, but is renting out the trailer. What an interesting follow up series could be derived from this. Yes-it is a shame it is to be no more. Obviously, I enjoyed this show. Best of luck to all in future roles.

Network interference. The so-called Fox network executives changed the episode air order..

BTW, hardly anyone "films" a scripted TV series these days. It is video recorded, either onto tape or other physical medium. An exception was the first season of Rookie Blue, which was shot on 35mm film, as seen in the Blu-ray extras.
And the so-called Fox executives could care less about the audience, otherwise they would give a show, any show, a chance to have a long enough run to have a real ending, instead of leaving those who did watch pissed at the network for pulling out the rug from under them.

Fox is not the only network who pulls this crap, but they have been real good at it this season: Alcatraz, The Finder and Terra Nova.
I don't trust Fox after what they did to Firefly and never will. I *never* watch any of their new shows until at least half a season is over to see where the ratings are. On the bubble? I refuse to watch it because I know Fox will cancel it. The Finder was a bit different in that it spun off from Bones and we liked it and we got hooked. Only to have Fox reaffirm why we don't trust them.

Same will be in the fall. We won't watch a single new Fox show, period.
