Help here please, Panasonic AE7000 & zoom

Hello. Not sure where I should post this, since my question includes a high-end projector maybe its fine here.

What's the difference between lens zoom and telephoto lens zoom?

In this Shootout (see below) it says that Panasonic AE7000 can light up a 120" 16:9 screen from a throw distance of roughly 12 to 23.5 feet.
I've got 12 feet lens to screen.

And this is what confuse me, it also says that AE7000 loses up to 42% of its light output when the lens is set to maximum telephoto. And that I should avoid doing that.

I must max-zoom to fill a 120" from 12 feet. Does that mean I'll lose 42% brightness?

That must be the same thing, because there is no "telephoto" option available with this unit. Probably means maximum lens zoom.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but 'zoom' in this case works backwards as well. On a projector as you increase zoom the image grows smaller so when you move the projector closer to the screen you are actually REDUCING zoom (if maintaining the same image size) and you will get a brighter image. It's not intuitive but I think that's the way it works.
