Comments on the Denon AVR1312

My friend knows I am into HT and he wants to know what receiver to buy. His old one is out of date. I have a Denon AVR3311 for my den and a Anthem D2V for my HT, but was unsure what to suggest. I really like Denon as a company and like the one in my den and I also bought my brother a Denon AVR4310.

He wants to spend as little as possible, and I mean little... So I said look at Denon and he found the AVR1312. I could not find any reviews on an internet search.

So any comments on this product would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Jim

jdsmoothie,

Thanks for the great link. It was very informative and it did a great job of breaking down each model.

Are all three of the on line retailers that were mentioned in this link still good to buy from?... ie Electronic expo, 6 AVE, and J&R... I bought my 3311 from 6 Ave and when I did an internet search to find the phone number for my friend there were articles saying that this company filed for bankruptcy.

If any one has info on these or other authorized Denon discount dealers with links to their websites that would be a big help.

Thanks again,
Jim

Hadn't heard about 6Ave but their website is down so apparently, yes ... out of business. However, Electronics Expo, AV Science and J&R are still very good options.

Thanks for all of the great info. I will pass all of this to him and let him decide.. it just boils down to money. His main passion is photography, but who knows maybe getting this AVR will allow him to enjoy his blu- ray player so much that he will want to take it to the next level!!!

I wouldn't recommend the 1312 as it has no auto EQ (Audyssey), rather suggest he step up to the 1612 and if price is an issue, point him to Accessories4Less who recently became a Denon authorized refurb reseller with 1 year warranty.
