Unfortunately no.

That sucks frown.gif

Not even with the pimped firmware?

Assuming no but thought I'd ask.

Nope.
Can I ask why not without getting too pushy? I'm just curious what it is in the unit
that keeps you guys from putting it in a firmware? Unless of course no one's tried.

Thanks again

The file browser (actually most of the interface) is locked by realtek, they only provide customization tools (so you can't add something that is not already there), so a feature as simple as that one needs to go through them first, so the request is actually in their queue already yet I wouldn't hold my breath.

By the way, check the new homescreen with fully transitional menus.
Gotta be honest, I didn't understand this transitional thing but regardless, I'm glad that there are people out there like you that do these things.
Awesome for dumbasses like me smile.gif

Isn't it a shame that they have so many features and they forget the simplest and most basic options?

I've bitched about this for many years. My eyesight is really bad and I can't see what's on my cellphone.
You can get phones that do pretty everything but they can't put a simple option to make the fonts bigger. I mean, REALLY?

Hey, how do I bookmark something so I can go straight there from the main menu.

I DO like this player though so it's a keeper regardless. Gotta get my butt in gear and send in the rebate.

Damn! Gotta look to see if it's still valid.

Later

Hey, is THIS what I'm supposed to print out? DOn't see anywhere I can fill anything out...???

You go to the MIR website, fill the form and they will allow you to print the submission info.

if you use the AIOS unplugged please redownload and reflash because I have updated the release to include a fix for functions that would break without a "wire" even if local data is being accessed.

I just got mine and I'm not sure what to do with it.

Is there a guide anywhere online that explains how to get the most of this device? I looked online and all I could find was various questions on forums, but no concise instructions on what the different things are I can do with it.

Every thing this box can do is detailed in the how-to threads on the forums.
But for starters .. go to the latest semiofficial firmware R21 (http://www.pivosforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=434).
Install that "in panic recovery" .. then see where you want to go from there.

Hello,

I need to update my semiofficial firmware to the new R21, from the prior R20 firmware. So, is there a special way to update my firmware, without losing all my media? Do I Just use PANIC RECOVERY to update the firmware?

Also, is there a way to control the AIOS with an android phone. I would like to control the music without having to turn on my projector to select the song.

aasoror,

Your dedication, assistance and helpfulness for all of those who've purchased the AIOS HD Media Center should be applauded and commended. I can say in all honesty I purchased this player because of your detailed instructions and help on Amazon, Pivos and this AVS Forum and I'm sure many other owners would say the same. So thank you for your continued guidance, support and selflessness in donating your time to assist your fellow AIOS owners online as well as offline. It is very much appreciated.

Just go with panic recovery, your media will remain intact (your settings will be lost though).
There is a web remote, but to "control" you should find a DLNA capable android software (haven't looked into this) and use DMR feature of the AIOS.

Well HD is HD smile.gif
Nothing exceptionally bad (or good) compared to using your PC (or a BR player).
Streaming from a PC is not an issue (BR ISOs, MT2S and reasonably encoded 1080p MKVs,).

i thank him for his input but id love to hear from a couple more people at least to get a good idea thanks smile.gif

I use mine for playing back non-compressed BRs in an avchd format with 1080p/24 resolution and HD audio. I don't use mkv or any other format for HD video.

I also use it to listen to hi-rez flac, wav, and MP3s with no problems.

I run everything over hdmi.

I don't stream. All of my files are on an external flash drive or a portable hard drive.

The remote seemed fine to me, but I only used it a few times as I have a Harmony One that I used to control all of my av equipment. The Harmony One works perfectly with the Pivos Aios as the Pivos Aios is in the Logitech database.

I'm very happy with the unit because it outputs 1080p/24 video without any issues at all. I just high the folder with the movie and press "play". The resolution automatically changes from 1080p/60 to 1080p/24.
