Your mic will come with the attachment. If not, I have an extra.

My CSL mic did come with an attachment, but not one that would fit the boom stand - thread sizes were different. I ended up ordering a one-size-fits-all tension clip that fit the boom stand and will accept a large range of mics. It's this one.

I have the same tension clip, great recommendation nube.

If you order might as well add in this attachment which works for Audyssey mics and possibly other room eq mics: http://www.amazon.com/CM01-Camera-Di...f=pd_sim_MI_11

The mic does come with a clip. Mine didn't fit either. I was returning it and learned something from one of the Best Buy employees . There is a metal threaded insert you can unscrew from the inside to attach to the boom stands. Not sure I know what stand the insert is for but I don't want to find out as that could end me up in another hobby.

Greg,

Actual quasi anechoic response of a UXL-18 in a 4 cube sealed enclosure. Not bad say I.

Nice looking sub enclosure
Just a couple quick questions;
What is the outside dimensions of the cabinet?
What is the depth of the recess?
and if you can remember before you mounted the driver what was lip dimension to mount the driver on?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay-saw your post while traveling but totally forgot about it.

The cabinets are perfect 20" cubes with rounded corners on certain edges as you can see.

Depth of the recess measures 2" and the lip width is 13/16".
These aren't guesses-I still have 3 cabinets to load.

Working with Mark to get the final pair here in April as well as the one from Ricci back.

Thanks!
I just cut plywood for 4 of them 20" cubed.

Any updates, impressions? You've heard some of the big boys at the gtg. How does the uxl compare?

The UXL - 18 I have seems to have a tiny air leak around the dustcap. Mark is sending some black glue to me. The other from my initial pair was tested by Josh but needs a minor repair.

I won't be getting the other two for a bit of time because Mark is out of cones.

I have no worries about four, let alone two, in keeping up with the subs I have heard once I get them measured and eqd.

This project might last until Christmas!

So this means there is a 100% defect rate so far in your case?

No, the one Josh has is not defective. HuskerOmaha's wink means something else.

Intriguing....
ya Josh blew it up LOL as for the glue, it's just 2 part epoxy, go to the store and spend $2.99 and it could be fixed in 2 minutes.

Rip it apart at the seams, or fry a coil? Or worse?
Yeah I grenaded it. Let's put it this way.... the dustcap got sucked inverted and detached from the cone. The leads also ripped off I believe. This was in a 100L sealed cab. Went from max output burst testing back to a sine sweep and forgot to bring the gain back down. I dont know how much power it was but the K10 does not play around. Total user error on my part. It is actually a fairly rugged driver it just can't survive that sort of abuse.
Curious there was enough pressure to blow the cap like that. Do these have a tiny pole vent and no under spider venting?

I believe you can visit data bass (think Josh has a write up) or check out the pictures and comments regarding the driver and the components....
.5" pole vent, and no under spider venting according to the write up. Makes sense.

Show me a driver that can handle 8kw+ power at <10Hz and I will give you a cookie.

I can easily show you a comfortable list of drivers that won't blow their dustcaps.

Lets not go picking fights in this thread please. Josh has said the driver is a solid offering and the data speaks for itself. It is too bad the one got imploded but we will get it fixed and back to my place eventually.

Hopefully I'll find some epoxy and get the cap leak sealed and pull some numbers for my room and overlay with those from the October GTG. I need to change out the speakons on the cabs too. No time lately.

Let's see this mythical list of drivers that won't blow apart at 8k watts at 10 hz.

I call bs.
