This is a cool idea ! Can I join in too ? I live in Madison (Go Bucky !) but was born and raised in the Milwaukee area.
I have a dedicated room in our finished basement. My friends call it the "man cave" or just "the grotto" and swear the wife has a lock on the outside of the door to lock me in !

Room is approx 14 x 20 x 8 with full light control, black ceiling, black fabric around screen, dark red walls and deep brown carpeting. Reasonably sound proofed (double wall, green goo) and in the near future I would like to build some acoustic panels to control reflections.
Screen to seating distance is 13 feet.

I currently have a Yamaha receiver plugged into my system because I wanted to hear what an auto calibration system (Yammie's YPAO) could do with all those different speakers. Wow, what a difference that makes. It is too old to internally decode the latest lossless soundtrack so I use the wonderful 7.1 analog outputs on the 51FD for the interim. My next purchase will be a new receiver, perhaps the Anthem MRX series or an Integra.
I also have a love for 2 channel audio. If you noticed I listed a turntable in my equipment list. I'm rediscovering the pleasures of vinyl as sometimes it sounds better in many aspects to my ears. I've been carefully buying used records for fairly cheap and sometimes purchasing new pressings of old classics. (DSOTM is my latest 'new' purchase). After about 2 years of collecting, I have about 100 records in my collection, all hand cleaned and re-sleeved with MoFi rice-paper sleeves and crystal clear vinyl outer sleeves. My favorite genres are jazz, classical, and 70's rock albums. (showing my age !)
