I , like some of you am not a long time member hear but have totally enjoyed reading , posting and learning about this new to me hobby . Thank You all who have allowed me to post and ask questions .

I thought I would share an article that I ran into while doing some research . I frequent about.com on a regular basis and thought that this particular write up REALLY quantifies what a htpc means to me and where folks should really be starting their adventure !!

Enjoy !!

Thanks guys!

The reviewer's negative comments of no remote and no TMT5 installed are valid.

However I think most people want to buy these on their own if they need or want these (I have limited use for TMT5 personally as I use MKV). As everything can be custom made these also can be added.

All in all a pretty good and fair review.

I especially like this screenshot showing CPU usage with 4 HD recordings at once and playing back a 5th (also proof positive what I have been saying for over a year that the 5400RPM are plenty fast and plenty capable for HTPC). Pretty cool seeing my name in a review and my HTPC in the picture.

Thanks again to AVS and all you have taught me over the years. I try to give back as much as I can with my limited time.

Nice post and proof of what you have posted all along .... the i3 being more than capable for htpc AND according to your screen shot , plenty of horse power left over even during an intense situation .

I dunno ... I've read buying off-the-shelf PCs isn't the way to go. I'd prefer to build my own.

Congrats on the review and nice write-up!
