Yamaha HTR 8063 receiver. Sound cuts out!

I have a Yamaha HTR 8063 connected to pvr via HDMI. After rewinding a recording from my pvr and then pushing play, sound cuts out on receiver. I have tried the procedure directly to the TV and this does not occur. The problem is temporarily solved by pressing a different "SCENE" button on the remote and then coming back to the original "SCENE". I shouldn't have to do this right? Please help! Thanks.

Yea something sounds broken. The HDMI audio is dropped when you rewited and then go foward. I would wage the AVR is a little too sensitive (did you use hdmi as well in your test?) or the DVR does something odd when you rewind/play in the FW.

You don't have any other sound dropping issues? Any lights or signals? After it drops can you go check the signal info in the yamaha menu and report what it says for the audio part?

Good luck!

You are onto something here. When the sound is working, info is as follows:
Format: PCM. Sampling: 48KHz. Channel: 2/0/--. Bitrate: ---. Dialogue: ---

After having rewound the pvr and sound cuts out, this what i get:
Format: Analog. Sampling: ---. Channel: 2/0/--. Bitrate: ---. Dialogue: ---

Yea for some reason the audio stream is dropping from the hdmi. This is very likely a not-fun hdmi issue. You can see if there is firmware to update and contact the manufactures but ....

Do you have any other audio modes on your DVR? I see you are using 2.0 you might try just some rca cables or spdif (other digital connection)

Good Luck!
