Should I sell my second sub?

I have two subs right now, an SVS PB10 and an Hsu VTF2.4. I have them calibrated but I am not sure if I am getting any benefit out of the SVS as it's a 10" woofer. Thoughts?

Only you can honestly answer that question. What I would do is take the second one out and watch some movies and run through some tunes. If you don't feel you need it, keep it out of the system and sell it. Otherwise put it back and enjoy.

Taking measurements of both scenarios would help as well.

Try nearfield placement, just because it's a 10" doesn't mean it wont rattle your teeth, it will give a transducer feel to your seating.

If you have them level matched it doesn't matter what the driver sizes are.

I have two EX's and still use my own 10 inch paradigm sub for near placement and it rocks! Kind of like a bass shaker

Funny thing. On January 10, 2012 you started a Thread called: "Two Unmatched Subs."

In that thread you stated that the driver in the SVS PB-10NSD hardly moved in comparison to how much excursion you were seeing on the HSU.

You also posted in the same thread that the two subs sounded good together.

All of this really makes me wonder...

Makes you wonder what? I am having second thoughts about owning two subs

OK, so you level-matched them. Assuming that is all you did, do you understand why that is problematic with two subs that might not have the same low-end capability?

There are ways for you to best utilize both subs but simply level-matching them probably won't get you there unless you are really lucky. What is your AVR?

Sorry, should have explained more. Yes, level matched them. Made sure that the Hsu is plugged in one port, set room eq to 1 and took a guess on the q at 5 as it sounded the most like the SVS.

Ran audyssey on my Denon 791 too.

What version of Audyssey is that? Do you know what your FR looks like?

Why don't you just quit using the PB10 for few weeks and decide?
