Polk Monitors on a TX-SR706 vs. AT on TX-NR3007

Here is the problem. I have setup a small office system in an attempt to mimic my home theaters' performance.

Office 7.2 system:

Office 11'x12'

Onyko TX-SR706
SAMSUNG BD-1600
FR Monitor 40 series II
Center CS1
Four S and SB Monitor 30 series II
1 KLH 15" and 1 Audiosource 15" subs (almost the same subs really and the low end sounds fine)

HT 9.2 system

14x18 room (TV and F/FW speakers on 18' wall)

Onkyo TX-NR3007
Onkyo Grand Integra M-504 on FR and FL
Panasonic BD
Two AT System 350 combined
Four AT 351 LR for FR, FL, WR, WL
Four AT 354 SR for S and SB
Center AT 353
2 DIY 15" sealed subs

I know that the speakers in my HT are substantially better and my HT has substantially more power, but I still feel the office system sounds restrained. Both are tuned with audyssey but -25 on the HT system practically brings the walls down on peaks, while -25 on the office system is under whelming.

Things sound pretty good in the office at moderate and low levels. I have a TX-SR805 sitting on the bench as a spare for the HT 3007 in case something goes wrong. I guess I should bring it to the office for a while and see if this is a power problem, even though I do not believe it is due to a lack of power. And swapping receivers is a lot of work, I think futile work; sure it will may better but why. Again I don't think it's power.

I think I have to mess with intellivolume, it sounds almost like I am forcing the amp to provide to much gain to a weak signal.

Could it be the two rooms are treated differently? Your HT room is possibly carpeted and the office is not? Room treatments may be the big difference. Just a thought.

That's true, I have wood floors in the office and carpet in the HT.
