They called me up to verify the order by getting my birth date, which was strange I thought. Anyways, I asked when they thought it would ship out and they said it should ship out by end of day today and I should get it on Friday. Hopefully they have them in stock so we all get to do some setup this weekend. biggrin.gif

Why do you think it was a poor job handling the return? Them wanting the defective unit back and checking it out prior to shipping the new unit makes perfect sense, unless of course you were willing to pay for a 2nd unit and get a refund when the got the defective one back and checked out.

I got the same DOB question when they called on Monday. My order is showing as complete and I got a tracking number a few hours ago. It shipped out last night but UPS doesn't show a weight or delivery estimate yet. A signature will be required so I need to figure out what the delivery day will be and decide sick day or vacation. My UPS pick up area is an hour drive so I want to be home when it arrives.

Ok, I feel a little better now that it seems like a standard procedure. (It still seems like an odd question to ask though)

I placed my order 1st thing on Tuesday and it still shows 'processing' hopefully mine will be shipping out today so I get it by Friday.

I went through this same process last week. I asked about why they were asking the questions and was told that they utilize a fraud prevention service which gives them the info which they then validate with you. I was a little concerned I was getting scammed, but after answering the questions it shipped after 1 business day and everything turned out great.

Weird, I ordered mine early this morning online at 3:20am, and they did not call me at all today for my date of birth or anything else. Yet this afternoon I got the email notice from them that it's already been shipped and is expected to arrive this Friday.
^^^yer getting it a lot quicker than I did.

Update: Mine arrived on Friday. It was double boxed and in perfect condition. I hooked it up on Sunday and so far it looks like the unit is a good one.

Same as well. Very happy with my purchase.

Count me as another that received it on Friday, and yes it was doubled boxed and it arrived in perfect condition. I'm very pleased with the way they sent it out double boxed. It's also kind of nice that it don't telegraph to everyone that handles it during the shipment as to what it actually is inside the box.

I just called and preorder my 4311. They shoud have another shipment in next week. $1099.63 + $29.99 for shipping for a new un opened 4311 with a 3 yr man warranty and 20 day return policy! I cant wait to get it
post #315 of 616
Best price I received from EE was 1193 + 29.99 ship + tax in PA. How did you get the 1099 price? That's awesome.
I am not sure. I just used the chat function on their website and talked with Rich. I asked him what the price was on a new, un-opened 4311 and that was the price he shot back at me.

Does anyone expect the price to go down much more than this? I am still a few months away from being ready and could still hold off a little while longer if the price is expected to fall anymore.

I was unable to get that price today. I was immediately quoted $1193.66. Looks like you got lucky, man.
Could it be a typo on their end when they quoted the price, and subsequently didn't want to change it back and lose a sale....

$1200 (rounded) is still a fantastic price and I am enjoying mine every night.

For those of you who have received 4311CI recently, I have the following questions:

1) What is the build-date of those units?
2) Does it have the most up-to-date firmware (including all the firmware updates since the initial release in 2010)?
3) Does it already include the Airplay free upgrade?

Thanks.
Not sure of the build date, but I don't remember having to do a firmware update. I did have to download airplay tho.

I had an online chat with Rich at EE a few moments ago. As indicated in a prior post, he said the best price they've had on this unit is $1193 and change. I asked if he could sell it to me for that price today. I was told "no". If anyone is aware of a retailer selling a new, never-opened unit, with the 3 year warranty intact for $1200, then I'm buying today.

I never called or chatted with anyone. I just went to their website, added the 4311 to the cart and applied discount code"grandslam" to get the $1,193.42 price. I tried just now and it still works.

1. 4/15/12 if I read it right smile.gif
2. I checked for an update a few times it said I had the latest.
3. I was prompted for the Airplay update but never bothered as I don't use it.

While the code works, why does the site want me to pay $90 in sales tax when I live in NV and EE is located back east????

See Company Tax Policy in the bottom of this.
Thanks, Mr James. The promotion code works. I guess you need to know the "secret password". LOL

dclark - I found this on their website:

Company Tax Policy
Electronics Expo maintains business operations in a number of states. By law we are required to collect sales tax in the following states. Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,South Carolina, Tennessee, Washington

@limiman,

I chatted with two different reps at EE on two different days - one of the reps was "David" and the other one was "Rich". Both deny that $1099.63 was given to anyone. Did you keep a record of your chat? EE seems reputable and reasonably consistent with their pricing. Both times I was quoted $1193.66 like others have stated. Just sayin...

Bought one...had a 3312 but couldnt get over the better build, higher power, better eq and better heatsinking for the price.

Great value compared to years ago. I remember the 2808ci being $2000 i think

Thread Starter
I started this thread on January 21 . . . Hard to believe it is still alive with even better deals. Great stories on all 11 pages! Six months later zi am still enthralled with my 4311ci . . . and still learning about it. I know some are migrating to the 3312, and for some meaningful reasons . . . But the 4311 deals people are still getting are simply amazing. I hope you all are enjoying yours as much as I am still enjoying mine, and will for years to come. Sme of us trade up when the next best shows up; but I buy the best at the best price and enjoy it . . . Then, me personally, I do not consider an upgrade until the warranty runs out. So, come January 20, 2015,a I will be looking around then. Simply has been a great receiver, well, the second one anyway. My first one was bought in November 2011 from Newegg in a scam where they professed to be a Denon online authorized retailer . . . Which they were not. AndDenon refused to authorize that unit. After a lot of calls and emails and arguing, and finally a call from Denon to Newegg threatening a lawsuit, Newegg gave me my money back. Immediately purchased another discount unit from EE on January 21, 2012, with a Denon factory warranty, and it has been an amazing ride in our HT with the 4311ci. All the best to those who can squeeze even more savings out of a 4311ci purchase!

I agree! I do not have a lot of experience with AVR'S over the years, but I am hearing sounds that I have never heard while watching movies. Even with my mix of Klipsch KLF20'S having the L/R duties and a Klipsch RC3 for center. I have owned these speakers for 12 years and I have never heard them sound this good.
