Perhaps so.. If thats the case, thats pathetic! I even told the guy others on AVS forum were getting that deal, but he told me they stopped that particular promotion a couple weeks ago. Seems fishy that before he could give me his best price, he wanted to know the exact price I had seen/ heard of from other places, or from other people at EE. Once he pryed the $1299 price from me, he first told me that he could do $1550 shipped. I told him that I could get it on ebay for $1479, or get an open box from audioholics for $1299 with free shipping. After warning me that audioholics wasnt an authorized dealer, he seemingly reluctantly told me $1450.

I then asked him if he could get me a better deal if I purchased a projector from them also. Maybe do a package deal sort of thing. I am planning to get an Epson 5010 for my build also. He said all he had was the 5010E (the wireless HDMI version). Best he could do on that was $2755. Anyone can get the 5010 pretty much anywhere for $2599. Granted, he was quoting the 5010E, but I don’t want or need that.

If anyone else gets a quote for $1299 (or less) from here on out, please post the name of the rep you got the quote from. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this thread now.

I would try calling both Vanns and Audioholics and ask them their best price.

I called audioholics a couple days ago actually about that open box unit for $1299. They said they no longer had it, but the best price they would do for a new one would be $1650. Its a moot point anyways if they are not an authorized dealer.

Just called Vanns. Their best price is $1599 rolleyes.gif

Much as I detest the whole "authorized dealer" price-support scam, Audioholics is an authorized dealer for Denon.

Called my magnolia 1469 frown.gif

Just checked their site. Discount codes "GRANDSLAM" or "BENSBARGAINS" still work at EE. Price is now $1,336.40 plus shipping which is not not as good as it was but still better then some of the other quotes. Base shipping went up to $36 as well so $1,372.39 total unless you live in a state where you also have to pay tax.

You guys should try to set up a group buy with somewhere.

+1 on group buy I'm in lol

Group buy -- let's do it
Sounds good to me. How do we get one going?
Not sure but sounds like a good idea
Just spoke with Harout at EE, he's at x155. He's checking into pricing and what this would look like for a Group buy. I tossed out a number of possible, 5 buyers, 10 buyers, etc. Right now, at this moment for a single purchase - best pricing they've been told is:
$1450 shipped
Re-ran the GRANDSLAM coupon and with shipping to NC for me is: $1,372.00 -- Odd, obviously better pricing than he just quoted me.

Yea, they seem shady with their quotes..

Maybe calling will get better results?

i may be interested in one. but my 2809ci is holding up nicely for now. when is the successor to the 4311 due out? this fall? I would think that the best deals would be right after that announcement, no?

The replacement for the 4311 is the 4520. The 4520 has already been announced and I believe it will be available in September. I guess EE is realizing that the 4311 is a sought after AVR with pricing to meet supply and demand. I would think that production of the 4311 has stopped so the supply of new units can't last for ever.

As mentioned, they are an authorized dealer. I bought a new and unopened 4311CI from them in March for $1299 shipped after calling for their best price (EE would have charged me tax). I had it setup and in my system for a week or so before I bought a second 4311CI from Vanns for $799 (brand new and unopened). I sent my Audioholics unit back so it may very well have been my old one that was the open box unit. cool.gif

Just tried both.

Coupon code "GRANDSLAM" is not valid.

Coupon code "BENSBARGAINS" is not valid.

I think I might settle for a 3311 or 3312 with a emotiva 3 way
post #414 of 616
I've been debating when to buy the 4311 because I'm still a ways off until I can actually use it but I check back at EE regularly and both GRANDSLAM and BENSBARGAINS do still work. I just tried and both generated a -$762.60 discount. Total with shipping ended up being $1,372.39 so not sure why it didn't work for you ChevyChad... Did you make sure you only have the 4311 and not one of the bundles? The codes won't work with the bundles where you are getting speakers or some type of cable pack. Price going up by about $150 is disappointing... Now when to buy?......
I just stopped by a Best Buy/Magnolia tonight and they had one new boxed 4311 left and were asking $1469 for it. I told the sales guy I would gove him $1295 for it and he said OK without an argument. I should have tried to see if I could get him to go lower, but figured it was a new in the box unit and it was a pretty decent price. Plus I think these units will start becoming a lot more scarce in the near future. Anyway, I can't wait to try it out!

Going to call best buy in the morning Magnolia... 1295 out the door?
Welp, I just ordered from EE. I did get the GRANDSLAM code to work. Not sure what I was doing wrong yesterday, but maybe it was as rmaddog suggested and I could have been trying it on one of the bundles that included the cable or something.. Anyways, for $1372 to my door is still better than if I got it at my nearest magnolia for $1295 + tax + gas since its about 50 miles away.. Im sure Ill be happy with it. Now I just need to get a stereo amp so I can use all 11 channels biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tips guys with the coupon codes!

Once again, unless the Best Buy is far away, you'd certainly have a better chance for a significant price reduction if you actually go to the store (plus, if you have multiple Best Buys with Magnolias in your area like I do, they can check the prices at all the stores in your district while you're there). Also, at this point in time, I'd certainly try to go even lower than $1295 (their actual cost was right around $1000 but some stores have sold displays even lower than that). And, as I mentioned previously, you can pick up both remotes and the Audyssey mic for about $125 shipped ($50 + $50 + $25) if you find a display that's missing these items. And lastly, I've definitely had better luck dealing with the Magnolia manager than a Magnolia salesperson when it comes to price negotiation.

Don't be afraid to negotiate - the worst that can happen is that they'll say no.

Ok If I can get 2 people to order I can get it for us at 1300 shipped to door... PM me if interested.. Must go through a certain rep at EE
post #420 of 616
It appears that their best price was $1193 plust $30.00 shipping just a few weeks ago to anyone and everyone. I woudl strive for that price, and maybe get 5 people in, which should not be hard at all.
