I'll try the 3D later in the week.

I am consider that whether should I go to watch it because I am really disappointed in Afterlife

Planning on catching this in 3D tomorrow evening. Since this isn't a Mrs. type of movie, will be going with the boyz. That means wings & beer beforehand.biggrin.gif

I'm not sure if that was due specifically to the movies or just that the old formula, notably the control scheme, was well overdue for an overhaul. I love the original Resident Evil 1-3 and Code Veronica, can't say I miss the controls though. The first Resident Evil movie was probably the closest in spirit to classic Resident Evil, but still pretty far off. The franchise has basically become an excuse for Milla Jovovich to parade around in tights in 3D and slo-mo( wait a tick, am I complaining about that? Not really....biggrin.gif), but I'm just disappointed that the game series' protagonists like the Valentines( Chris and Jill), Leon Kennedy, and Claire Redfield have been relegated to side characters, and merely existing as 'wink wink' nods for fans of the games.

Stumbled into an IMAX and saw this tonight. This is some of the best 3D I've seen. The visuals were excellent and the AQ kicked ass (may be in part to the IMAX). Oh, and a near nekked Milla didn't hurt either.

Really nice movie to watch. But i haven't got the chance to watch it yet. But i have seen its promo That looks really nice to see. Milla Jovovich was again looking nice and daring as Alice. I really enjoyed the movie. And Try To watch it soon.

Thanx for the review.

I wanted to go see this at the cineplex in 3D.
Sadly, it is playing at the IMAX Lite theater....and my ears can't take the abuse...biggrin.giffrown.gif

Have to agree. Best 3D so far this year and overall in a long time (past 2 years).

Saw it last night, agree about the very good 3D. Plot-wise...I don't know....it didn't feel as though the storyline progressed much. I basically felt the same way as I did at the end of afterlife: Are we any closer to the end?

I was rather bored with this. I liked the last one Afterlife and IMO thought they took a step backwards with Retribution. Alice looked really good though.

But now I think I know why: this just came in 10 hrs ago that Paul WS Anderson said the next one WILL be the last one. Guess that makes a little more sense to me now he prob wants to leave with a bang. I guarantee he knew this all along but waited until now when it's released on video to gives us that info because had he said that 6 months ago a lot of people would have skipped this and wait for the 6th and final installment.

We caught up with the director to chat about the home video release, and he confirmed to us that Resident Evil 6 is going to be the final installment in this long-running action-horror franchise based on the popular video game.

"I feel that [Resident Evil: Retribution] is very much the beginning of the end for the Resident Evil franchise. I see this movie as the beginning of the end, and the set-up for an epic, and truly spectacular finale. Which I hope will be the next movie."

What does Paul W.S. Anderson hope to achieve with his final swan song?

"I couldn't possible tell you that. Definitely, the destruction and loss of the world. I can't tell you if it's the loss of the entire world. In terms of returning characters and themes, I do see this movie coming full circle. »

I wish they would bring back Marilyn Manson for another whack at soundtrack stylings for this franchise.

Nice find....
I will miss Alice, but like the song says: all good things have to come to an end.wink.gif

I have watched all of these except this one, so far i have liked RE Apocolypse best. For watching at home, not in 3D, is this worth a blind buy of a bluray?
This was an interesting RE....and maybe the weakest.

The "is it live or is it Memorex" conceit was dragged out of the BLF (Bag of Lame Filmmaking) for this installment.
I really REALLY find this shtick annoying.
Unfortunately, it appears to be becoming more common with sci-fi and horror lately.

Is it a dream or a computer simulation or a hallucination, etc....rolleyes.gif
NOPE, it's just LAME filmmaking, folks.

At any rate...plenty of action, plenty of Alice, plenty of turn-your-brain-off moments.
I dunno, maybe it really is time to put our girl to bed...or back into the Matrix or whatever.frown.gif

Excellent Wabo picked this up today on Blu looking forward in watching this.

If anyone blind bought the 3d blu ray, watched it and hated it and wants to unload it, shoot me a PM as I will buy it. smile.gif I watched this a few nights ago and thought it was typical brainless RE fun and the 2d and AQ were fantastic IMO. I am VERY curious to watch it in 3d now though, but dont want to shell out the asking price for a new version. Hoping to find a used copy or see it go on sale for under $20 at some point.

Thx!

IMO this was "better" than 3 and 4. Not as gritty or with as much element of horror like one or two. Still, I can't see myself ever re-watching this unless it was to enjoy the excellent AV as TOE notes. I have the first four and 3 was so bad I only bought 4 due to my OCD(tongue.gif) but do view the first two every year or every other year. YMMV...smile.gif
