thanks! i went to the Electronics Expo website and they have an open box for $429...i'm hoping nothings wrong with it but it still carries a full manufactures warranty...pretty good for a $700 receiver. 90 watts per channel should suffice you think? i will be match the E55ti's with matching front and rears.

i'm wondering if i should run an external amp with the AVR2112 cause i've been reading through the receiver forums about how you're really not getting a true 90 watts per channel but less than that, maybe actually 65 watts? but i'm wondering if it's just overkill and that the receiver internal amps are adequate enough? if it's true any suggestions on the amp?

wow...i'm getting really excited waiting for these tower speakers to arrive at my front door! along with the 60" sharp led 3d!

I thought both have 90w per channel? How much of a difference is the Audyssey MultiEQ XT. I'm happy with the 1912... I think it will be enough to push everything.

The Denon 2112ci doesn't have pre-outs (other than Zone2) so you can't run an external amp for the speakers used in your "standard" 7.0 set up. You'll need a receiver with pre-outs (or dedicated pre/pro) to do that. However, without getting into too much detail, I think the 2112 alone would be fine with these speakers.

it might seem alot from 65 to 90 watts but its not that much louder.i truly think you'll never have it turned up all the wayanyways i have a 75 watt per ch.pushing 87db speakers and can't get past 3/4 of way up before my ears bleed

XT has better filter resolution and will measure two additional spots. Check out the MultiEQ comparison chart in this link:

cool...good to know!

it's crazy that the E55WI's cost more than the towers! try explaining to the wife why i need $500 for these little speakers and only $395 for the fronts which are 5 times the size? and i still haven't told her that it's also another $500 for the center!

well, it seems like with the reviews i read that even cranking these speakers the sound is still pretty clean....not too bright

coming from car audio it seems like i'm tackling a whole different animal!

Done limit yourselves if you are buying a new receiver get one with pre amp outputs so you can add on some real power when you get bored

back to searching again...just when i thought i was locked on the AVR2112. any other suggestions for receivers with preamps just in case i do get bored? i've checked newegg, electronic expo but it's hard to search it when you're specifically looking for one with preamps as well as 3d ready.

looks like they have the E55TI's back in stock again! wish they had the E56CI & E55WI on clearance.

Just so you know you need to double the power to increase the level 3dB. So you would have to go to 180 watts per channel to get 3 more decibels. then 360 WPC to get 6 more decibels ETC. IMO you would be fine with the 2112. I, personaly, wouldnt touch an Onkyo if it was given to me.

I suppose the proper term would be low pass filter or LPF.

I have it set to 80 hz because I was listening to music on it. For music I find 80 hz sounds best to me.

Yes I have to have double bass on to listen to 2 channel stereo and have the sub on.

Got my e55ti's yesterday. They are very nice. I liked the build quality of the towers. As far as listening to them goes:

1) The bass is good to me, but I had a a two way with a 4" woofer before.
2) I like the soundstage and imaging. The speakers disappear into the sound and I like that.
3) These are really full range speakers. I do not have a sub and I am playing them in 2 channel and they sound great and they can go very loud.

I need to break them in and get the center now.

Just curious. Since the bstock can not be returned what would you do if you did not like them? I have been looking at these and some others. Trying to decide, do not want buyers remorse.

I hate working 16 hours a day. I got the towers Wednesday and the center yesterday... I cant wait to get home tonight and start pluggin everything up.

That is the price you have to pay to get the cheap price. If you get the a stock, then you can return them at no charge to you. Maybe you could order the bookshelves or center for a trial first then go for the towers.

If you do not like the "b" stock, them ebay or craigslist is your only option.

Thanks I had not seen that. Goes to prove that each person is different. If I read it right the Klipsch rep said that the JBL sounded better than the other speaker. The other speaker happened to be a Klipsch.
