Currently I decided to put some money into my old HT system. I moved into my new house and I thought it would be a perfect time. I haven't touched any of my system since I bought it. You'll see by the pieces I'm going to mention.
I never had a sub. That being said, it was the first thing to buy. I went with the BIC F12 after reading a lot of reviews here. Adding that alone impressed me. I'm very happy with it's output for movies.
Next I went with the Monoprice 4104 rears. I upgraded from a 3 piece center/rear combo JBL Flix combo I bought years ago. The installation was perfect for the rears. No issues.
I upgraded my receiver from an older Sony (model escapes me at this moment) to a Pioneer 1020.
Whats left is the fronts and the center. The center is the left over JBL Flix series and the fronts are Pioneer CS-G204's.
From what I have read here, it is recommended to replace all three with the same make. I have done some research, not too much, and have stumbled on the Polk series 60 front towers and the CS2 series II center. They seem in my price range, sort of and have gotten good reviews. I have to find funds to get all three at the same time, but they seem to be fair priced.
My question is probably generic and opinion based but I thought I would put it out there anyways. Will I hear a real difference with the new speakers? The way everything is running now I'm pretty impressed with it. This mission started because I felt the center sounded ...odd. Kinda bright I guess one could say. I thought maybe it was time for an upgrade.
