Samsung 6003SF & Retro games

I recent bought a Samsung 6003SF, and I am having an issue with the clarity while playing older gaming systems (SNES and NES).

I am playing these games in a 4:3 ratio, and the top portion of the screen is blurry. The screen progressivly gets more 'jagged' from the bottom to the top. This only happens with playing older systems. Regular TV viewing, blu-rays, and newer systems are fine.

I have contact Samsung customer support, and they were not helpful.

Is this just something I will have to deal with?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Get your manual and lookup page 49.

You may need to turn off "Film Mode" or change "Auto Motion Plus" settings...

I think I have tried everything.

I've tried turning on/off game mode, messing with the Auto Motion Plus setting, restoring factory defaults... on and on...

Can anyone help me with the cause of distortion like this? Maybe if I know the cause, I can find the solution.

Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks for the reply Frankie. I'll check out the manual pg #49.

Try this, goto PICTURE --> ADVANCED SETTINGS and change the LED MOTION PLUS to off/on to see if that makes a difference.

If that doesn't work, goto AUTO MOTION PLUS and set it to "Custom", then change the JUDDER REDUCTION setting to see if that does anything (pg 51-52)...

Thank again for your reply, Frankie.

I have trie what you suggested with no avail.

Today I hooked up my 4-port switcher. SNES >> Switcher >> TV.

I noticed when the screen became dark, from the backround of the game, the TV would darken, flicker, and go back to normal.

When the TV darkened the distortion mentioned in the OP would go away.

I will post a video of this asap and get a link up.

Very weird..
