I recently got a new laptop on which I am trying to get netflix to work on. Netflix works fine on every other system we have (wii, ps3, iphone, ipad, desktop, and the other laptop), but for some reason on my new laptop the video and the audio get progressively more out of sync as I watch it. And I don't mean like barely out of sync but still watchable, it usually gets up to three seconds out of sync after about 10 seconds of watching. The weirdest thing about this problem is sometimes it works perfectly fine, although not typically. I don't notice this issue on youtube or hulu, making me think that it's microsoft silverlight that's the problem. My internet connection is definitely not the problem, it usually is about 11 mb/s on this laptop.

What happens specifically when I watch a movie is it starts out fine, then after a seemingly random amount of time, the video will freeze kind of, but the audio will keep going. When the video resumes it is usually a few seconds behind the audio. It keeps doing this periodically, rendering the audio and video farther apart each time and making it unwatchable very quickly.

My laptop is a thinkpad t61 with an intel core duo processor. I am using Windows XP with all the current updates. If you need any more information about my computer, I'd be glad to supply it.

So do any of you know what the problem could be?
