I can't find anything wrong with MLB11 - in fact those two new gameplay effects 1. Pulse pitching looks stupid. What part of that is realistic? 2. Hit indicator that looks like a spray can brush in photoshop?

I like MLB because its realistic and true to the game these modes (obviously will be optional) just bring this game closer to the "arcade" feel of the 2k sports titles...

I'm really debating on whether to get this years version. As there's 2 things I really want (which haven't benn added/fixed). The free agency glitch for the simmers. And I want the ability to make custom salary caps for each team. So they teams like Pirates, A's, etc. can actually stay relevant in my franchise.

thanks for posting the videos... please post with feedback on how the move controls feel/work for you... I don't need much of an excuse to dust off my move controlers and pick up this game if it ends up working well.

Just saw on a thread on the operation sports forums that The Show this year will prompt you to choose to install a 5GB or 10GB game install onto your PS3 internal hard drive.

Of course they recommend and claim the 10GB hard drive install will make load times faster for the game.

Won't be an issue for me since I have a 500GB internal hard drive installed on my PS3 Slim.

its a 5GB install and load times are virtually nonexistent...


So far gameplay seems more polished than last year but MLB11' is so good unless you play everyday and will notice the improvement I wouldn't upgrade..

Well, it's a moot point for me, since I was reading People's impressions at the "MLB The Show" forum at a certain sports gaming website and got sucked into the hype! I picked it up yesterday afternoon! LOL

The hype is well earned, however, it's SO fuc&%$ng good. Such a polished gem of a game, you can tell the makers REALLY *wanted* to make the game good. It's like when you make a sandwich with love, it's just... different. Better.

Just ALL those small things that give it flavor and personality. Stuff that the Madden series has NONE of. God I wish other sports games were as meticulously crafted and sculpted.

Is it perfect? No, of course not - no game is. But the minuses are minute compared to the positives.

How difficult is the game to hit? I am a baseball fan and have picked up the game in the past although found the hitting to be difficult in the past. Do you notice any differences this year? I may just suck at the game but it took the fun out of it for me.

How difficult to hit? For me so far, pretty tough. I just CAN'T seem to lay off that low breaking ball!! It looks right down the pipe, and ugh! By the time I swing it's bouncing in front of the plate!

But I'm not one of those guys that has to play on Hardcore or All-Star or anything.

So I switched to outfield camera, and I "guess pitch" for a fastball. if it's NOT a fastball, then I just lay off it. Period. I've started getting a lot more balls called. Oh - and I bumped up Human Power, Human Contact and Solid Hit by two notches each, and slowed pitch speed down all the way.

So yeah, it's difficult, but you can adjust it and make it so it's fun for you, that's what I did.

Sorry I can't comment on the Move controls, I don't have one.

I loved the guess pitch. I picked up MLB 2K12 for the Xbox because my friends said they were getting it and we could play online, and I remembered just how horrible that series is. I think I may see if my brother wants to buy my copy and go pick up The Show.

I skipped the show 11 so the stride and swing is new to me. I use the pure analog hitting and like it a lot. With my stride I feel u get better timing on a pitch. Plus that takes away a power hit button which I couldn't stand. Now you can manipulate a pull swing or going oppo. Going yard is more rewarding to due needing perfect everything. Stride swing location. Love it. Definitely practice.

However the best thing about the show is the fact that devs introduce a new feature but don't force it. You can go back to classic hitting or just analog hitting. Really love this franchise.

It's amazing. Between the time they spend on operation sports taking feedback and making sure everything is correct, to creating new gameplay year in year out is truly amazing. Hands down best sports developer out there

Just picked this up and it's my first ever Show. Holy cow it's hard to hit....any suggestions on hitting? I know I can adjust sliders but isn't that cheating?

I would say: Patience! I don't swing at the first pitch unless it's RIGHT down the middle! Starting off 1-0 is SO much better than 0-1. Statistics show it's a big difference.

And don't be shy about messing with sliders. I gladly raised Human Contact; Human Power; etc all the way!! Oh - and I lowered the CPU Pitch Speed all the way, too.

Once I started doing too well (unrealistically well), I just started notchin' 'em down. Just find a sweet spot. Oh - and don't be too quick with your changes. Go 3-5 games between changes to sliders. Baseball's the kind of sport where you need a decent sampling.

I also use the outfield camera, with right-handed pitchers, and a custom camera (same as Outfield but left side) when there's a left-handed pitcher.

Be patient, watch closely, and when you DO get ahead in the count, see what pitch he's most confident in (it changes throughout the game), and be ready for that pitch and lay into the power button! Good luck.

I am playing RTTS on the PS3. I was traded to the yankees (boo!) and have had two solid years starting for them, but I want to play for a different team. When the off season rolls around, no other teams offer me contracts and I end up having to stay with the damn yankees. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I just need to finish a few more good seasons before any other teams come calling?

That's normal. I've never made it far enough along to get to free agency because I like to pitch every game. Assuming that The Show is authentic to MLB rules you're going to have to make it through 6 full seasons before you can take your talents to South Beach.
