They could master it at a higher resolution, but for 35mm, you're getting into the realm of strongly diminishing returns past 4K, especially with older film stocks.

Raiders was 35mm with a few 70mm blow up prints.
6k is top whack for 35mm for 70mm double that would be a nice start.

Hmmm, I always remembered the first PG-13 film being Oxford Blues with Rob Lowe. Maybe that was just the first one I saw theatrically.

Temple's violence quota certainly initiating the new rating, but Raiders had small problems with the MPAA as well, Belloq's head explosion was far juicer and gorier in the first cut, Spielberg and his effects crew added the fire to not get an R-rating. The head explosion can actually be seen in still form (minus the fire effect) in the Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark book.

So still no official announcement then!

If you knew your film history that would be a typical title for a '50s B-movie action/adventure.

Like Temple of Doom is "mature" sounding

Really. Note the year of the film release.

Although it was 'the thing' to have cheesy movie titles in the 50ies, I just think that 'formula' is somewhat different for the Indiana Jones titles....'saucer men' as a title would have made the 4th movie THAT MUCH WORSE......

So are people still thinking this is actually official?

The lack of an official announcement for one.

The date is an educated guess, nothing definite.

It's not surprising that we haven't had an official announcement yet. September is a very long way off. Do we know what else is coming out that late in the year? no.

The date is certainly NOT an edcuated guess. Did you read the article? ZonaDVD isn't really a "fan site." One could consider it the blu-ray.com of Spain.

Yes, I read the article.

It says "Paramount Spain", and nobody in particular. It was not officially announced, nor was an exact date given.

Paramount (proper) and LucasFilm haven't said anything.

Paramount Spain is Paramount, regardless of the country its in.

And I never said it *was* officially announced.

I could come in here and say "Paramount Ukraine" confirmed it, doesn't mean anything.

Well it is still likely to happen - we are seeing a few other Spielberg titles this year so why not these too? It's about time anyway.

Just please don't let the transfers for these be a green & teal mess.

Well, here's the difference: ZonaDVD has clout and a positive reputation.

So forgive me if their word carries more weight than *anything* you have to say.

I provided a link from a reputable source and Paramount never bothered to dispute it. That says something.

Says what? You seriously think Paramount knows (or cares) this thread even exists?

But not even any other sites reporting their info?

I wasn't referring to "this thread" and you know it. I was talking about their site.

Clearly it isn't a problem when "announcing" other titles, eh?

You'll notice there's no announcement on the front page. The actual news items.

Until the domestic studio officially announces it I always take these things with a huge grain of salt, especially with Spielberg/Lucas titles. So many titles have been "confirmed" before.

It's either in September or October, it just how things are.

The title of this thread says trilogy.

If its all 4 films released in a boxset its not really a trilogy then.

Do they class kingdom as a special feature now?

It would be totally a$$holiness to force anyone who already has #4 to re-buy, but I don't expect anything less from the studio.
