Indiana Jones Trilogy - Page 7

I'm glad Crystal Skull was included...love it or hate it the movie IS part of the Indiana Jones series and deserves to be a part of the 'Complete' Collection...it wouldn't be 'complete' without all the movies

Hmm. Might buy this on release, might wait for individual releases. I know I can just 'not watch' the last one but if I'm not going to watch it then I'd rather also not pay for it.

It's still a lousy (albeit predictable) thing to pull on the folks who already purchased the 4th movie.

I'll probably cave, though. I love Raiders and Last Crusade too much. Temple of Doom ain't bad, either.

I for one would have been okay with it if they left out KOTCS and just didn't call it complete.

How does watching something on cable mean you've seen the transfers?
Weren't they talking about doing a new movie? I feel a little jipped having to buy it again, but can deal with it if it's the "complete" set. But how can it be complete if theyre planning another movie?

Give it to the kids. Give it to the dog. Give it to charity. Give it to the Russians. But I'll certainly be giving it.

There were little things fixed on the old Lowry master from 2003. I was wondering about the new one.

A transfer is merely a film scan; in this case, the new restored Indy prints were digitally scanned already and made into files which were broadcasted. Presumably, for the Blu-ray, this SAME transfer/scan will be encoded into AVC and at a higher bitrate (and we can pray no DNR or EE). There's always the chance there will be some minor color tweaking or something else, but the BD should look very similar, but a little better given the superior of BD vs broadcasting in general (higher bit rate, etc.).

$74.99 Pre order on amazon. Seems a bit high doesn't it? U can get all six star wars movies for $79.99.

We'll see what happens when they're released but, in theory, I'd take four unmolested movies for $75 over six digitally-butchered movies for $80 every time.

$49.99 would be more like it but the $54 would be fair considering the extras. Cant wait!!

That would be around my guess, as well.

Weak. No individual releases, no sale.

Great. Looking forward to this release. Thank you, sir.

Another reason to not want KOTCS in the box would be... we already bought KOTCS when it was released by itself a while back.

Personally, I'm a bit annoyed at the blatant double dip and might just wait for individual releases unless that $74.99 price drops quite a bit.

As i had already posted the thread title needs to change -- its not a trilogy cause its 4.

Just saw the BD trailer over at The Digital Bits.
Very impressive video IMO.

No snake reflection on the trailer

Not a dealbreaker for me but boy would I like that restored.

Unchanged. Original. That's what I want. Yes, it's a pain when people say they "fixed" the snake reflection, because "fixed" could mean either depending on who you ask. And I went and did the same thing, sorry.

I know that the Raiders scan was 4K, not sure about Temple or Last Crusade though.

I'll wait till it gets closer to decide whether to get them or not.

What annoyed me about the snake reflection removal was that they didn't erase the blatant one in front of Marion a few seconds later. Either take them out entirely or leave them there, 'cause it looks half-assed otherwise.

Definitely getting the boxset in any case, I dig all four Indy movies.

I liked it when they took the snake reflection OUT of the DVD, and hope it remains the same for the bluray....

Where do you draw the line?

The line is drawn before Greedo can pull out his gun.
