The original (cropped) is the one in post #271.

99% sure they are alternates for different markets, both done by Richard at theatrical release

There are so many factors in poster releases, you really have to know what they are before you can give any opinions.

The one in your post #290 was the 1982 re-release poster. The other one is the original 1981 theatrical release poster, just as Shaded Dogfood pointed out. See here:

There are Roman numerals that identify the year in each poster. Check your image again.

I stand corrected, working 4 weeks of 12 hour days with one day off does my brain no good.

September 18th it is... hoping the price comes down about $20 but I'll probably still buy first day.

If they will not separate out Crystal Skull from the set or sell the titles individually... I'll buy this collection and then take it out of the box and have a disc burning (or melting) party.

Yes, I hated it that much.

I like all 4 Indiana Jones films and yes that includes kingdom of the crystal skull. I just don't understand why their are some out their that don't like the 4 Indy film sure the alien aspect of the film I did not like but in the end it's still a fun Indiana Jones Adventure. The original negative was first scanned at 4K and then examined frame-by-frame so that any damage could be repaired.

The sound design was similarly preserved using Burtt’s original master mix, which had been archived and unused since 1981. New stereo surrounds were created using the original music tracks and original effects recorded in stereo but used previously only in mono. In addition, the sub bass was redone entirely up to modern specifications and care was taken to improve dialogue and correct small technical flaws to create the most complete and highest quality version of the sound possible while retaining the director’s vision. The result is an impeccable digital restoration that celebrates the film and its place in cinematic history.

Hope that the UK version of Temple is finally uncut

"Alongside this, for the first time ever on Blu-ray, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is presented in its uncut format, 28 years after it was first released in cinemas. The original release was cut in 1984 in the UK to obtain a PG rating, however fans can now witness all the gory cut extras in all their glory."

So does that mean we get the current 'cut' version in the US? I want some more gore. frown.gif

No, the US version was always "uncut". The film was cut for the UK.

Official title according to Amazon (US and UK) is "Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures". Which is also kind of a misnomer since it doesn't include the Young Indiana Jones TV Series (excuse me while I duck out of here to avoid the flying fruit).

As far as I'm concerned, it's still a trilogy. biggrin.gif

Has there been any mention of Doom and Crusade being restored by Laser Pacific or will they be using the Lowry masters?

Raiders is the only film to be fully restored from beginning to end. Doom and Crusade seem to be new transfers from the film negatives that have been cleaned-up with color-correction and dirt removal and they are recycling the 5.1 audio masters from the DVD releases. Crystal Skull is the same as before.

By that I assume you mean automatic filtering.

So following that logic i would guess that if a jaws boxset of all 4 movies was coming out you would call it a single movie. biggrin.gif
