Unless I do my math wrong $395 is less than $419, making CalMAN less expensive.

Ah I see. Well as of now, the only one available is retail package (as the website advises I get) @ $439.00 I was told there would be no math....

Oh I see we are out of stock on the OEM model. You might want to make a phone call sometimes a little prodding can get you a deal.

Also for that price you get not only CalMAN but also the X-Rite PC calibration software.

Sorry about the math.

Buy.com has the i1Display Pro (retail) for ~$200 right now. I went with that. If the software isn't enough, I'll get Calman as well, coming in around $400 total.

for those that are really on a budget, isn't the I1 Display LT and free HCFR the best option?

how much better is the CalMan/Display 2 bundle compared to the Display LT and HCFR?

Accuracy wise we have new stock of i1D2s but a lot of companies have new old stock and the meters will drift while sitting in their packaging.

The next question becomes how much is good software worth to you.

If that's all you can afford, I'd say go for it though. Once you start calibrating, you'll see how better tools can benefit you.

quite frankly i am on a limited budget. if i have $1k to spend on calibration tools, i certainly won't be looking at these combos.

with that said. the I1 Display LT and HCFR combo is about $150.

the Calman/I1 Display 2 is about $200?

Is there a $50 difference in terms of accuracy? for the budget minded folks, if performance is the same, why spend more?

If there's noticeable difference with the Clamn/I1 D2 combo and it's definitely justiable to spend the extra $50.

just asking.

From what I found CalMAN is a much more robust SW package than HCFR (which I practically dead now from a development perspective). Plus, it does not support any of the newer meters. I think it would be wise to go with the combo package from Spectracal - as it gives you a much more user friendly experience as well as flexibility to upgrade to better meters down the road.

For $50 I would think the value of the software would be a no brainer.
