Magnetic shielding required?

Did a search on here, but couldn't find my answer.

Do the magnetic fields from speakers mess with BR/DVD players, IE, are they as sensitive as CRT tv's? How about the Wii?

I ask, because it's possible either of these items could be as close as 12" from a subwoofer magnet.

No, not at all.

AFAIK, only CRT displays are effected by magnets. This is because the ion gun in a CRT is controlled by magnets.

... and the effect will be obvious because the magnetic field will mess up the colors. I wouldn't put anything with a hard drive close to that sub either, like an HTPC or some game systems.

That explains why there's not much talk about it. The wii I could probably keep away from any of the magnets (four subs) if I needed to. The htpc will be quite some distance away. Thanks for the info guys.
