Looking to Upgrade HTPC - Need MB/CPU/3D Video Advice

Long story short: My desktop PC is slowly dying and I routinely get blue screens then have to power it down for 20 - 30 minutes and then it works fine for a couple days and repeats. It's older (3+ years), generates a lot of heat (GTX260 among other things), and it's noisy. My HTPC is pretty solid and is more important to me then my desktop but I do use the desktop for a lot of things (audio editing, home finances, etc). I want to give me 1.5+ year old HTPC a minor upgrade then move the parts to my dying desktop.

Currently my HTPC consists of this:

ASUS Maximus III GENE LGA 1156 Intel P55
Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core
nVidia GT430 (3D)
Ceton CableCard 4 tuner
Agility 3 64Gb SSD (OS)
Western Digital AV-GP 1.5Tb (Data)
HTPC case, 4Gb ram, WD USB 3.0 external backup, remote, BluRay-RW, etc, etc

I would like to replace the MB, CPU, Memory, and video card with something smaller and cooler but still get about the same performance. The HTPC is a media hub...I routinely record 2 - 3 HD things at once and also stream WMC to a XBox. I also watch 3D Blu Ray's with my Mitsu DLP and they look GREAT with this combo. I do not game on it although we do some occasional web surfing (YouTube, Hulu, other online videos, etc). Here is what I was thinking of upgrading to:

ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 Intel Z68 HDMI
Intel Core i3-2125 3.3GHz 65W Dual-Core (Intel HD Graphics 3000)

Will this work or will I be disappointed? I'm using just the HDMI from the GT430 right now and bit streaming Dolby and like I said it works great but I'd like to get cooler and quieter while still satisfying the needs of my other failing machine.

Is there something else coming out soon that would work better with a integrated video/cpu combo? I could probably prolong my desktops death another month or two if I had to...probably will anyway to watch for sales. Should I just try to wait for the "Ivy-bridge" chips?

I highly recommend the i3-2125, it is quite a power cpu. I use it on my HTPC with a P67 chipset motherboard. I have no problem playing 1080p content using the HD3000 graphics, though I do not use 3d and I do know that it requires some more processing power to display.

Glad to here you are doing 1080p without issues...if your on a p67 I would think I would think a 68 will be ok. Have you ever tried a custom resolution?

Has anyone used the i3 or i5 for 3D on a DLP?

This thread will give you what you need:

If you are going for a Maximus GENE I assume you are a bit of a power user and will use this for more than just media. I would go for an i5-2400.
