Caller ID Notification Working on X64 and in WMC - Page 3

ok.. i think i got it.. i installed the mce add-in tho.. but am i supposed to configure this somehow? i dont see a tab in wmc and the caller id doesn't pop up even though the w7 caller id settings detect it

What did you have to do, I am in the same boat. My bluetooth phone is paired correctly, and shows up in the settings, but I cant get any response in the test, and no popup when I receive a call.

i still cant get any response in the test either.. server settings wouldnt even show up before.. but thats because my bluetooth wasnt found

does the phone/desktop bluetooth profile have to be set in a certain way? does the bluetooth have to be set up as a headset profile? a desktop profile?

W7 Caller ID supports Windows Phone 7.5 Mango!

I've successfully tested Nokia Lumea 710 running WP 7.5 Mango.

I think I'm having a configuration issue. I have opened a support ticket on the Windows 7 Caller ID website, but thought someone here may be able to provide a quick answer. In my scenario, I have 2 HTPCs and 1 XBOX. For this discussion, lets call the HTPCs HTPC1 and HTPC2. HTPC1 is the system that has a modem. HTPC1 has W7CallerIDServerSetup and W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup installed. I have added localhost and HTPC2 system name in the server configuration configuration on HTPC1. HTPC2 has W7CallerIDClientSetup and W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup installed. I have inserted the IP address of HTPC1 in the client configuration of HTPC2. The XBOX is connecting to HTPC2 for MC7. Currently, Called ID is working on HTPC1 and HTPC2, but I'm getting nothing on the XBOX.

Quick Config:
System Name.........Role..................Installed Apps
HTPC1.....................Server................W7CallerIDServerSetup and W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup
HTPC2.....................Client/MCE.......W7CallerIDClientSetup and W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup

I'm guessing I have this wrong. I originally has W7CallerIDServerSetup and W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup on HTPC1 and W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup on HTPC2. However, in this configuration, I was only seeing Called ID on HTPC1.

Also, how do you get pictures in the Called ID window? I'm guessing there are file size, file type, and file name requirements. I couldn't find them on the site.

I did some tinkering and I have it somewhat working. This is what the configuration looks like now:

System Name.............Role.................Installed Apps
HTPC1.........................Server...............W7CallerIDServerSetup
HTPC2.........................Client/MCE......W7CallerIDMCEPluginSetup

The only issue I'm having now is that the XBOX only gets notifications if I have Windows Media Center opened on HTPC2. I normally leave WMC7 closed when I'm not using it. Does the W7 Caller ID MCE Plugin only send notifications to the XBOX if WMC7 is running or is there something jacked up on my configuration?

Could I install the W7 Caller ID MCE Plugin on HTPC1 (server install) and add the XBOX IP address in the configuration? I keep WMC7 opened on that system 24/7.

MCE needs to be run to push notifications to extenders.

I am ready to pull the switch on this Caller ID.....I am really going to need it for the upcoming election... I have a simple three HTPC setup; only one machine with a modem. I expect to leave this machine on most of the time; the main HTPC does not have a modem. If I understand this, the one machine with modem will forward caller ID info to my HTPC machines running WMC... (My home HTPC are all W7-64)

Yes, you install "W7 Caller ID Server Setup" on the computer with the modem & "W7 Caller ID MCE Plugin Setup" on the other 2 computers. The server will even send the custom pictures you associate with each phone number to the clients.

I installed W7 Caller ID.......I LOVE IT!
I have one server and three clients. It works without a glitch, and that is all I want.

In the next release a drop call and block unwanted calls functionality will be added for full Asterisk support.

I am integrating this great software into my home automation system which is based on EventGhost. Using the vbscript approach, I am able to trigger events when a call comes in, passing caller id data to EG. Works great! Even greater would be to also be able to trigger events on the call ending. Is this possible? The MCE plugin seems to be able to resume play on call ending, so the detection capability must be there in the software.

call ending event is not available in the current version. MCE resumes play based on popup duration setting. I'm adding this to todo list.

Any chance of a MediaPortal plugin?

I'm integrating W7CID with MediaPortal through EventGhost, using the vbscript approach and the MP EventGhost+ plugin. Should provide the same functionality as the MCE plugin.

Edit: works beautifully! I now have caller ID details and pictures poping up in Mediaportal, current content paused, a ring tone played through the speaker system and the light dimmers turned up on all four MP clients around the house. All from one W7CID server, connected to the land line and four iPhones.

I use StreamedMP. The message box turns up center screen, with the picture below. I tried the default wide and it looks better, but the picture is sticking out to the right of the message box. I guess it has to do with the size of the picture. Is there an ideal picture size I should use?

I guess the following skin has incorrect position for image:
skin\StreamedMP\dialogTVNotifyYesNo.xml
