CD player with volume control

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive CD Player with volume control? I'm looking to connect it to a 1974 Marantz 2240, so I figured if I could turn up and down the output of the CD player I could just set the volume on the Marantz.

I'm assuming by the lack of response that this is not something that exists?

It doesn't appear to be a common feature anymore, but there are players that have it, depending on your idea of inexpensive. Here's a couple:

I'm sure there are others, possibly DVD players as well.

Thank you very much for the recommendations, I'll definitely look into these.

I didn't recommend them, I just pointed out a couple players that have that feature.

In fact, I would stay away from Denon CD changers, they tend to break in my experience. I have had good luck with Yamaha, but never used that model.

If you can find a Cambridge Audio 540D DVD player (which I bought as a CD player), it will do the job. Not in production anymore but you might find a demo with warranty if you hunt around. Should also be fairly inexpensive in the used market.

The volume control on those changers probably won't do what you want. The normal level for those is all the way up. In other words, they'll let you turn the volume down but not really up. Also, they don't have the range of the volume control on the Marantz. It would be better to use the volume control on the Marantz, but I'm thinking your goal is to be able to control the volume remotely. That's a very nice receiver, but the best way is to replace it with a receiver that comes with a remote (Then can I have the 2240?) or get a used pre-amp with remote and plug it into the 2240.

I decided just to get an inexpensive BD player that had 24bit/192khz, and my father and I are going to build a remotely controlled servo to adjust volume on the 2240. Nothing permanent so no altering the 2240. Instead I'm thinking of something that can slide over the volume knob and turn it.
