DAMN these things are heavy!! I'm just glad I got the TC SOUNDS logo somewhat lined up without losing a finger. Mounting a 90lb driver in a recessed hole isnt exactly fun.

Some pics of the finished product.

it may have been said already, i haven't read the whole thread...but if it has, it is worth repeating.

That my friend is the the single best looking subwoofer pair i have ever seen. Dead sexy!!!!

Edogg is about to replace "pair" with "quad" here pretty soon.

Speaking of that... Edogg, do you have a plan of attack for how you are going to eq these? Is your SMS-1 up to the task? Or better yet, is it going to give you what YOU want?

I'm researching into a good sub EQ because the MCACC on my Pio Elite SC-57 is about worthless in that regard. I still have a lot to learn but I am hearing great things about the SVS AS-EQ1 (although discontinued and I would have to find one used) and I've heard great things about your SMS-1 as well. I need to find something that will play nice with the Pioneer though.

I like the Pioneer Elite receivers but instead of plunking down the money for a AS-EQ1 have you thought about replacing your receiver with one that has Audyssey XT32 with SubEQ? The SubEQ is the same as the AS-EQ1, which is probably why it has been discontinued.

The new cabs get here tomorrow. Hopefully i'll be able to get the drivers and amp ordered pretty soon!

For me the SMS-1 has been great. I used it to boost the low end and also to bring down a huge peak i had around 30-50hz. Together with my 4311ci I've been very happy, and best of all its very easy to use.

For manual EQ's aside from the SVS AS-EQ1 the SMS-1 is one of the easiest to use and discounted now: http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/it..._c=site_search

You can eek out more performance with other manual EQ's but there is a steeper learning curve and usually expensive measurement equipment that needs to be added to the cost.

THANKS!!!

I really need to let things completely break-in (almost there) before posting a review. They keep getting better as they lossen up. I've had to turn down the subs twice now to get them level matched with the rest of the channels.

Keep in mind I only have 2 subs in operation right now. The next 2 are still a month or two away from being completed.

God I love how small those are. Don't get me wrong, my 18.2s are monsters and I love them. But they are twice the size.

Your open invitation to my place has been rescinded. There's no way I'm going to embarrass myself when you've got those in your house.

At least wait until I get my LG clone amp and MiniDSP in and installed. Just ordered them last week.

Then you can bring everything over and I'll install and break them in for you. It'll take a few months so you can just leave them with me.

Nice cars btw.

THANKS!

Awesome! Congrats on the amp & mini! I'll wait till you get them all dialed before taking a trip out there.

Are you using any sort of DSP like the MiniDSP? Or any sort of ParaEQ?

Or are you running straight from reciever to the amp?
