Looking for a Way to Record OTA HDTV

Thread Starter
I live in Toronto and currently just have an antenna that gets around 30 HD channels. What I would like is a dedicated box that would be able to act as a fully functional dvr.

The features that I would like are:
- ability to record tv (pause function would be nice)
- free channel guide (currently I use zap2it on my computer)
- remote control

Having dual tuners and internet access would also be nice, but not necessary. I was looking at some of the google tv set top boxes and they seem good, except I'm a bit confused as to how they would work with OTA. Also, they don't seem to have the PVR function. I know I could probably do all of this with a computer, but I don't want to have to build and set up a new tower near my tv stand.

If anyone know if this is possible, the help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

He wants a free Guide, so he's limited to PSIP or TVGOS. I don't know what is available in Canada in that regard.

The set top box is your connection to online content. None have a dedicated tuner for OTA AFAIK, and none record. Dunno if some have a pass thru of OTA or not. You could build a mini computer on the Zotac platform if you can tuck a small box out of the way. It's really the only way to get a fully functional (i.e. 10-14 days) FREE TV listing. I tried the computer route and didn't care for it (computer maintenance issues and all), so I went with a Tivo.
