Trials Evolution - Page 2

Really? This is the reward a racer gets after the first race is have a train land on him. Lol
post #32 of 113
Ah man now you ruined that for me... spoiler tags! lol

Just got it a couple hours ago but have not played it yet, I can already feel hours of my life wasting away (but at least it's more enjoyable than a hacking cough from smoking).

You definitely don't want to mash the continue button as soon as you finish a race in this game. Sometimes the "finale" takes a few seconds to develop.
Played for about 20 minutes and keep getting disconnected from LIVE plus have texture loading issues.

I got the same. After alot of the races it would take some time while it was "connecting to the Xbox Live leaderboards."

From RedLynx:
Hey guys, we are working on the multiplayer ranking and leader board problems. Thank you all for bringing this to our attention. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ha!! Same thing here. Played Trials HD the last three days. Didn't help much I still suck but had fun. Having a good time seeing the changes in the new version. Plowing through all the easy levels.

Add me to your friends list also: motoman617
I'll start adding some of you tomorrow night.

Later,

Just played for about 1.5 hours --- almost through all of the medium levels, gold on everything so far.

I challenge anyone to beat my 'sewage plant' time, lol (so lucky).

Decided to try the trial last night, and I was immediately hooked. Snatched up the full version, and now I am completely addicted. What a fun game and well worth the 1200 MS points!!!

Yeah, the servers wiped my pre-dinner times from the leaderboards. I was annoyed because on one of the tracks, I spent twenty minutes trying to best my friends, but then I just replayed all the tracks with a faster bike and scored even better times than my friends on all those tracks. I'm sure by the time I get home today, some of you guys will have bested me. Bring it on, fellas.
Played up through the 2nd set of medium levels. I've always like the medium-hard to hard levels so I haven't gotten to my favorite part. Gameplay is still as fluid and solid as ever. It seems like they added a whole bunch of Rank-Up bonuses, and cash, and points and jazzy stuff to the UI and general design of the game.

I absolutely hated the floating white cursor and gamertag showing other people's location on the track, too distracting. Had to turn that off immediately but could maybe turn it back on when I'm going back and battling someone else's time.

Decided to put down Fez and pick up Trials Evolution. God, I forgot how much I love Trials games.

Just played through the first set for a half hour or so before work. Can already hear the voice in my head: "just one more time." Uh huh. Heard that one before.

I think I've got most of you on my friends list already from Trials HD, but in case not, add me: Hypops

They wiped the stats? Did they fix the connection issues in the process? I figured if your scores were saved locally then they could be uploaded to the server when a connection is established (not that I had anything great anyway).

Game is great from the hour or so I played, but the connection issue was annoying when you want to restart an event quickly. Like the change of scenery and looking forward to seeing what they have for the wacky events (the ski one is cool).
I know when I was playing before dinner, I had times posted on the friends scores box to the bottom right before you enter a specific track. Then I hit the snag where it wouldn't upload my time for the one track I was battling because it thought I wasn't connected to Live. After dinner, I tried again to upload my time for that track, and it just sat there at the point where it said, "Posting score to leaderboards" or whatever it says. After five or ten minutes of that, I cancelled and decided to look at my rankings on the first set of tracks to see who had surpassed my times. All of my times were then gone from all of the leaderboards. I know they were there earlier. And I also know that some other friends times were missing that were there earlier. I just assumed it lost everyones times.

And I don't think it will upload your score at a later time because the warning I got when it thought I was not connected to Live stated that I could cancel and it would not post my time to the leaderboards. I assumed it meant ever since it didn't state it would load it once I had reestablished connection to Live.

EDIT: Yes, they did fix the connection issues. When I played after baseball and Idol, it was quick loading leaderboards and quick starting the next track.

Played a lot yesterday and never had the connection issues. Skill games as always injure my fingers more than anything else.

Played a little multiplayer with Dallas last night & was working pretty well except for when we tried to search for a race it was taking forever to try and find anyone.

alright I have joined the dark side and bought this game after much hedging (I've never paid full price for a game and rarely bought an XBLA game at launch; and now, Pinball Arcade and Trials Evolution have grabbed me).

Sheekamoo is a boss... now have a target to aim for...

online gaming for this game is not as intimidating as I thought it'd be.

apparently 100,000 people trying to play online at the same time crashed the servers...

http://www.computerandvideogames.com...n-launch-rush/

Leaderboards and online interactions feature heavily in the excellent Trials Evolution, so it's a major issue when its online servers go down.

And that's exactly what happened yesterday - launch day for hotly anticipated XBLA game - when 100,000 players rushed in to post their ninja-flipping scores and replays to leaderboards.

ugh... this was a minute one purchase for me, but I misplaced (well, my wife probably did) a 4000 ms point card... so no purchases for me until I can find it.

The thrill of victory: Finally topping your friends' times after an hour of restarting a track after every little botched jump or landing.

The agony of defeat: Looking at the times again five minutes later to see that two friends have surpassed that time.

You B@ST3RDS!!!

I'll just return to those tracks once I unlock a faster bike.

This game is too addicting.

And I suck at multiplayer. I think it will just be a matter of learning the tracks, but, man, I don't think I finished higher than 4th in the few races I did, and a lot of those times I DNF. No wait...I did finish in third place in one heat.

Trials Evolution is awesome...always a great time trying to beat your friends I'm up to 92 medals...just 8 more to unlock the Extreme tracks!

I think most of you are already on my friends list (GT = Rane Xtreme)

Please add my son if you could (GT = nachoXTREME)...he'd love to have the extra friends to challenge!

Thanks!!!

I added you last night and I'll add your son tonight. I hope to get some free time to try some online races over the weekend. So far I'm having a blast playing single player and finding the fastest lines and learning the tracks.

Bought this game last night, it is a BLAST. Never played the original Trials HD, but wow, this is great. Figuring out what jumps to not take at full speed and how to master a track is very fun. The multiplayer is great, and I like the ranking system and scoring system, very cool.

It did freeze once last night during multiplayer though.

I added everyone on this thread as a friend, hopefully we can all duke it out on the friends leaderboard.

There's got to be a way for them to handle people who quit a race when the track choice doesn't go their way. Maybe deduct some experience points or something? Or give the others some kind of boost? I ended up having only one guy to race because the others didn't want to play the Limbo level (this level is hard, especially experiencing it for the first time ever (should have done more of the single player campaign)).

Reminds me very much of Gears horde where people instantly leave if the map is one they don't want but others voted for it.

I guess that means I'll have some work to do when I get home this evening...

So spent a good time climbing the global leaderboards today, good times. Trials tracks are real solid. I'm not as impressed with the current skills tracks, I think the last game's skills tracks were more fun. I've downloaded a few custom tracks and there are some good ones in there but it's so early yet, I expect big things from those.

And I've had zero success trying to play multiplayer. It takes forever to find someone to play, then I just give up. So if anyone is looking to play a real match hit me up when I'm online.
Yeah, once I got my achievement for 5 multiplayer wins, I haven't gone back. Takes way too long to find someone. Also, I got multiplayer requests from some of you in-game, but I couldn't figure out how to accept. Either I'm missing something obvious, or the game is.

And one of you fools has a ridiculous time on the sewer stage. I'm at the top of my friends list leaderboard in the first three full sets of courses except for that one! Grrr. Judging by the name icon, it looks like you found a crazy shortcut at one of those final water spouts. Can't figure out how you did it though. I manage to stay well ahead for most of the run, but then you zip by me right at the end every time.

It might be me, but I'm not sure if you're on my friends list --- GT is Mcfly1955 --- add me if I'm not.

That would indeed be you, punk.

Can't for the life of me figure out how you were able to "short-jump" from the two water spouts up through that series of three spouts just before the end. I can stay well ahead of you up until that point, then you zoom by. Your time is a good 2-3 seconds faster than mine (Hypops).

Lol. Watch my replay, it was total luck. If u almost wipe out on a spout you go flying. If u look at the top on the leader board most do this at the first spout.

Mine was with the original slow bike too...totally accidental, but I'm going to revisit the board and try to move up the leaderboard.

I can't believe I played this much before realizing there even were replays.

The leaderboard competition is getting fierce.

LOL --- they come in handy when you are trying to figure out how the hell #1 on the leaderboard is a full 10 seconds faster than you after working at a track for 30 minutes.

Some of these people are insane.
