Nick, thanks for the response. I am definitely going to listen to the Dynaudios... but I need to get up to Bethesda for that (I think). And as luck would have it, it looks like I'm traveling 15 out of the next 16 days. :-/ I'll get there... just might be at the end of Feb

Do you happen to know any local Dynaudio dealers?

For the money I cannot think of a better speaker than the Philharmonic Audio Philharmonitor. Here is a review with pictures included, and below is the link to the website.

Well, I want to thank everyone who chimed in for their help and suggestions. I learned a lot in this process.

I've made my decision and I just picked up a pair of Focal 807v's. Not only do they sound fantastic, but they really match well with the Jolida. I was worried that it was going to be severely underpowered, but I was very wrong. And thankfully so!

I need to run an errand real quick but I'll get some pictures posted asap. Thanks!

Glad you like them - Enjoy!

Another speaker to seriously consider is the GR Research N2X. This speaker is normally sold as a kit, but there's a gentleman named Ron in the GR Research thread on AudioCircle who builds them for sale:

I've been to Ron's place and have heard the N2X. I can vouch that Ron does excellent work and these speakers sound great. They are a fantastic deal at the price he is asking.

Salk and Philharmonic Audio (Dennis Murphy) are also excellent recommendations.

Edit: Ooops.......I see the OP has already chosen a pair of speakers. Might help if I read the entire thread first.

Philharmonic Audio

I finished reading through the Philharmonic thread last night. I must say they sound very interesting. It's worth a call and perhaps a visit just to meet Dennis and audition one of his creations.

It's all good! I appreciate the response.

Here's the setup. Please accept my apologies for the horribly undecorated surroundings. Now that the stereo is done, I can concentrate on some wall decor. The room is going to be really neat when it's finished I think. I'm decorating it as very WWII/Military. So excited, but no more info til it's done.

great little setup.i dont know if thats going to be your speakers final placement but imo you'd get better and bigger soundstage if they where spread out a little further apart

Yeah, definitely poor planning on my part. I can push 'em out another couple inches but that's as wide as that wall is right there.

i don't know whats on the same wall where your cabinet is but imo maybe a couple of stands right on each side of it, will give you better sound. the wider the better especially with those great little speakers.you are not getting their full potential.
