Downloading now, looks to be a fantastic disc cannot wait to try it out.

Thanks again look forward to the next release smile.gif

Thank you Superleo and others for doing all this great work. On about 65% for the BD50. Been going on for about 24 hours frown.gif. Can't wait to check it out. Thanks Again!!

I downloaded the zip.txt file and deleted the txt part, but I still can't extract the files. WinRar tells me "error 1 -- nothing to extract." Any ideas?

That is just the torrent file. Change the extension to .torrent then open it with a torrent program like uTorrent.

Thanks, but still no go.

"Reference_Links_Complete.torrent" is not a valid torrent file. The torrent file cannot be opened because it contains invalid data.

Shouldn't the zip file unzip all of the torrent files? At least that's how I read the first page.

The "Reference_Links_Complete.zip.text" is indeed a ZIP file. First rename/delete the TXT extension, then you can just right clicks and "extract here". Once extracted you should have the 5 individual torrent link segments plus the BD50 torrent link.
That's what I tried... still no luck.

I'm on a Mac if that makes a difference.

With Archive Utility: Unable to unarchive "Reference_Links_Complete.zip into "Downloads".
(Error 1 - Operation not permitted.)

With WinRar: /Users/Adam/Downloads/Reference_Links_Complete.zip is not RAR archive
No files to extract

I'll try again on my HTPC (it's a PC), but my wife is watching American Idol right now haha

Yes, it matters a great deal (as has been mentioned here, before: post #1019).

The file is password protected. You need The Unarchiver, a great open source program, and the password, "AVSFORUM."

Thanks. I got it to work on my PC. Do you know why WinRar on my Mac won't open it, but WinRar on my PC will? Does it have something to do with changing the file extension? I guess it doesn't matter, but maybe it will help another Mac user.

Don't use winrar, since I use The Unarchiver, so I'm afraid I don't know.

Glad you got it working one way or another.

One more question... I have at HTPC, so I don't really need to burn an actual disc. I tried using MakeMKV to convert the files to MKV. It works fine, except two titles always fail -- playlist 10 and playlist 13. Any ideas?

What is the size of those files? They may just be "filler" for the mastering process.

You may want to add VLC media player to your HTPC; it'll play almost anything.

Sorry -- I didn't provide enough details. The titles fail in MakeMKV.

They are definitely movie files -- not sure of the size, but one is 12 minutes or so and the other is 16 I think.

Playlist are that... playlist, do not have the actual clips, just the information on what is supposed to play with that playlist... I believe that the longest clip for that disc is a little over 6 minutes. If you are playing the individual clips, you can not have more than 45 clips, 8 clips per segment plus one clip for the background menu.

I would suggest in order to get the full experience of the disc, this one and Steve's, to actually play it with menus. On a HTPC you can do this by using TMT... The soul of these discs is actually the menu navigation.

But MakeMKV and VLC are free, so he may wish to do with a little less soul.

haha I'm fine with a little less soul smile.gif I just don't have a burner.

I can't figure out what's causing the two titles to fail, but I'll mess with it a bit more. I got Cloverfield to rip -- that's the one I really wanted to hear. I didn't get WotW to rip -- I might have to just go rent that one.

Thanks for your help guys!

You might want to plug it into tsMuxeR and see if that helps.

(FWIW, I thought the original WotW was FAR superior to the remake)

will it work on a wd live media player? do i just load the files on my extenal drive or do i need to do this?

Unzip the download to produce the standard BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders.
-Open the STREAM folder. You will see text files such as "00007_VIS0006" and "00015_SURR0008." Respectively, they mean "Take file 00006 in the STREAM folder of the Visuals disc, rename it 00007, and drop it here," and "Take file 00008 in the STREAM folder of the Surround disc, rename it 00015, and drop it here."
-Do this for each text file. Note that there is no 00028! Make sure you don't lose, delete or change any of the m2ts files that are already there.
-Delete the text files , sort by type or size. thanks
post #1129 of 1198

The process you quote is for taking the individual BD9 downloads and combining them into one BD50 disc. It has nothing to do with what you want to do.

You can probably play the .m2ts files individually. Someone with your player will have to tell you if you can play the folders to get the menus and functionality.

Hi

Great job

I just want to ask Superleo if it has any thought to make a 3rd version with 3D movies and maybe D-Box support ?

Thanks

As far as D-Box support, I believe the clips on the discs if they originally had this type of code it should be on the clips from the demo disc. I believe some one mentioned it before that most of them have the D-box support but for whatever reason not all of them. I couldn't tell you why if the original movie had it the clip doesn't. The clips are an exact copy to the original.

Regarding 3D; I do not have the equipment to test these, if, when I get it, then I might consider it. I know Scubasteve and Kalani had mentioned the interest of creating a 3D disc in the past, so it might happen.
Hi

Thanks for your response
As I read on the dedicated thread of D-box on avsforum, for disc which are not d-box coded, the company can do it if we send them the disc.
So if we send them a demo disc , Maybe they can do it ?

Thanks again

Probably not, since, technically, this is copywritten material.

Hi

So 3D demo disc will be great to schedule
post #1135 of 1198
3D demo disc would be mind blowing!

My suggestion then is to start a thread (or just surprise everyone and do the work yourself). Leo doesn't have a 3D setup and I don't have the interest, since the 3D technologies (so far) give me a headache.

Good luck.

Anyone know of a way to stream these using a media server connected to a PS3? I got everything downloaded and turned into an ISO, I just don't have a BD burner.

A 3D disc would be very specialized, since so few people actually have and use that capability.
Is this an updated disk or is this thread still for the original disk on page 1?

This thread is for the original disc. The next edition is still in development.

But stay tuned.
