Re. Tapatalk.. I know what you mean. For this forum, I don't use tapatalk, I just use the AVS mobile site, it's much much better biggrin.gif

Most likely there is nothing wrong with your downloaded files nor the unpacked disc/files. Windows player does not have all the necessary codecs to play these clips correctly. I would recommend TMT, even though is not free, it includes all the codecs to play almost everything that is out there. TMT has a trial period, if anything you could use it just to test your disc before you burn it.

If you just want to play individual files (as opposed to seeing the disc menu structure), VLC media player can handle just about anything (FREE!):

I've seen this for Win 8:

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1440877/free-windows-8-bluray-solution-for-htpc#post_22885376

Personally, my HTPC runs Win 7 and TMT.

Hope you get to enjoy the disc soon.

Can I just buy these discs? Any takers?

No.

This was a BIG problem before, which we are trying very hard to avoid repeating.

Sorry.

The disc(s) is design and was created so that no BD burner was needed. Go over the first page, it explains how to get it/them. I would venture to say that 90% of player will play the disc correctly when burned to DVD DL media. Give it a shot.

I was wondering the exact same thing, especially since I'm having such a hard time with the Reference 2 torrents.. frown.gif

And with my low Internet cap from my ISP, I'll end up paying them anyways unless I stagger the torrents over a few months.. which I don't really wanna wait for..

I would pay for the blank BD50, postage and extra to compensate for time and effort. I would have no problem with that.

Yes.

And if you're up to 80GB, you have plenty for this disc (unless you're trying to get ScubaSteve's and superleo's first and second at the same time eek.gif).

Right exactly.. well I gave up on Reference 2 (for now..) since none of the disc torrents will start for me.

But I just tried Reference 1, and the Ultimate Bass Demo Disc and they both started downloading right away.. smile.gif

I'm just too dumb for these type of thing frown.gifbiggrin.gif

I downloaded 4 of the 5 (wasn't interested in the Music demo). Interestingly, 2 of them wouldn't play on my pc as ISOs using PDVD after mounting them. PDVD gave an error message saying they were data discs. The other 2 started up just fine. However, all 4 of the ISOs played perfectly on my ISO-capable Oppo 93. biggrin.gif

Great stuff, by the way.

Disc 1 is the superior disc IMHO especially music wise(mostly!). By the way, what BD is the Stix clip from?

Cheers

You can find the Styx Bluray info below. It is, indeed a great disc.

Thanks! Copy ordered!

Any other reference quality disc you can recommend? If it wasn't for this disc ref BD demo disc I would never have listened to Josh or Styx with the orchestra, it is proving to be a great of discovering new material to play. I don't mind what genre but prefer rock pop and classic, but am open to suggestions provided the disc is of the highest quality as my set up is extremely good at exposing poor quality material and recordings.

I strongly recommend DTS 2013 demo disc and Dolby HD3 demo disc found easily on eBay and for PQ get Samsung 2013 demo disc.

If you want concert disc, get Chris Botti concert blu-ray.

Independent review from demo-world.

Special thanks to Bernd for reviewing the disc.

Steve

Click on the image and you will see pretty much the standard format for demo-world reviews. It will list the tracks by section, with their titles, durations, and soundtrack formats. Following that is a short section with evaluations by the number of blocks colored in (up to 6) in different categories. Then there is a graphics section with front and back case cover images, a disk image, then a large number of screen captures.

So, no, there is no text.

Anyone still seeding the "DIY BD50 Disc Form Files"??? I had not downloaded that when I got the individual sections a while ago. Since it is only a 55 Mb file, is it available anywhere in a downloadable form?

Thanks in advance.

I just gave up a long time ago. No amounts of seeders and I don't have a bluray burner anyway. If anyone wants to help a fella out, I would gladly pay for the postage and blanks for a copy of these discs. Please PM me if you will help me out.

I thought I had deleted these from my computer... they were still there.

Seeding, it should just take a couple of minutes to download.

I left uTorrent idling and a few hours later some people started seeding and it quickly picked up the file. I guess I just started looking at the wrong time. All good now :-)
