Those files had been patched to trick the player and it might be able to play the disc.

Finally got around to watching the Music disc last night, the menu background video(from the 2011 dts demo disc) is really cool by it's own & the 3D version rocks.

BTW, you can get to the background/intro clip (on all the discs) to play by itself via the "Play All" menu and selecting the "Play All HD". you can "Chapter Next" until you get to the intro clip.

Living in San Antonio Texas has some advantages. Leo was kind enough to give me a complete copy of his Blu-ray disc last night. :-)

My family stayed up way too late playing all the different scenes! The master and commander bass demo made me appreciate my sound system in a whole new way. I realize the source dictates the picture quality and sound quality for a movie. But I had no idea just how much I had been missing out on by not playing real Blu-ray discs. The master and commander scene not only showed the depth of bass but also the woodchips flying in the surround sound was phenomenal. I can only imagine if my speakers were better quality and I had a lower noise floor for my room how it sound.

Of course the menu scenes are pretty cool as well

Leo did an amazing job with this demo desk!

yup, agree with all the posters to now. Awesome discs. I have only downloaded the bass and surround discs, and both work flawlessly on my panny 310 and the quality is just right on.

A hint to you other EU guys, the torrent works much quicker from 6:00 GMT to 14:00 GMT at which point, for me at least, the download speed dropped off considerably, to a crawl.

Can't wait for the next Bass disc

I don't speak for Superleo, but here's my take on the matter:

The problem is one of slow uploads. It takes time to get the initial seed distributed and out there for people so the initial push to a broader audience isn't painfully slow. It's bad enough with the DB9-size files... It's going to be that much worse for the full BD50. But we'll do out best to get it all out there as fast as possible. Trying to seed the BD50 at the same time we're launching the DB9, and it'll dramatically slow things down across the board.

Recall, in addition, that the impetus behind this disc that Superleo created for us is to give something to those people who don't have a BR burner (a lot more people don't have them than those who do). So the full BR, while awesome, is not the initial focus of this little experiment. If you absolutely have to burn a BR ASAP, there's always ScubaSteve's disc.

Meanwhile, a little more patience and we'll all have the full boat.

We'll just go through the process of getting all the segments out first, one more to go!!!
The BD50 is exactly the five discs together, so technically the guys with out blu-ray burners are not missing anything other than convenience.

I'm just going to take a guess here, but I'm anticipating that Leo is going to have some sort of correlation table, so that those who have already downloaded the 5 segments can just rename and copy the contents of each of the 5 stream folders leaving the need to just download the updated contents from the non-stream folders. Anyone that downloads each of the 5 segments shouldn't need to download the full BR in it's entirety.

I've not downloaded any myself. Just waiting for the full BR.

Although this will work just fine and its an excellent idea, for non technical savy people would be a nightmare having to be renaming files from five different folders to be moved into a different folder.

All the .m2ts files have the same sequential numbering 000 to 010 so one would have to be very precise for the BD50 to work correctly if done this way, thus unfortunately I see a huge download coming for those wanting to download the BD50.

I'm having this strange problem where most of the .m2ts files are skipping during playback. I can play other .m2ts and lots of mkv's fine but for some reason these files cant play. This is playing directly from the stream folder. I have turned the disks into iso's and tried to mount and view that way, but for some reason I cant play the iso's either.

I also have a PS3 and am thinking of just transfering them over to that for now. Any suggestions on what I can use to possibly convert the m2ts to a another format somehow? Any ideas why these files might be stuttering for me?

I dont have any dvd+dl media right now either, but thats probably the route I go.

is there any way to watch this material without burning to DVDs? like mounting to virtual drives (via PowerISO or similar software?)

i'd love to be able to sample this stuff and play it from my computer and output it to my receiver over HDMI.

incidentally, if i play files on my computer and output to my receiver over HDMI, does the computer output the original signal and allow the receiver to handle the processing or is a crappy onboard soundcard going to screw it up?
