Question about the "disc label"... where does that go? Shouldn't a label destined for a disc be round? That image looks rectangular. I assume I'm being a dork and just missing something here...

When you import the image to the label printing software it'll have the correct format. What's been used before for the label image actually has a pattern as a layer, that you are supposed to take out for printing, so this time around I actually omitted it. It should print correctly just center the image.

will THE BD50 be customizeable? If you didn't want music, for example, is it possible to remove that portion?

You can eleiminate anything you want via a program called Mulitavchd:
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/
I did this in order to get the disc to fit on a 4.5gb dvd-rw for testing.

The "Music" would still be in the menu choices. The only way to eliminate that completely is to reauthor the disc the way SL did....a daunting task.

What's the point? Were you planning to completely re-author the BR and put your own stuff in place of the music, or does it just really offend you to have music there at all, even if there's no harm to the rest of the content? It's not like you're sacrificing space needed by the other material, after all... once the BR is burned, it's done, whether you have 5 sections of material on the disc or only 4 (omitting the music, for instance). (Not to mention having to redo the all the artwork, else you'll have empty/unusable menu entries.)

The point is that (if it were possible/easy), I'd rather not have a section on the disc that I'd never access/use. But, doesn't sound like that's the case, so no biggie. Luckily, I make my own covers and labels, so hopefully my 6 year old will never even know that Bieber's on it - or else that's all that would ever get played.

The animation section is very cool for the younger ones... and the rest of us too.

I agree. Now that I have kids, they are often coming into the theater while I am showing friends my system. Keeping it kid friendly is a big plus for me.

Thanks!

I checked the downloads and it seems that its very thin at the moment, so maybe just maybe same as last week... setup torrent on Saturday release Sunday or Monday. MAYBE!!!

Now, which one should be next?

Sounds good. (pun intended )

I'm most curious about the eye candy section, but it seems like some others may be interested in the animation section, which is also good, so whateever works is fine. They're all excellent. I think I have the music test one already?

Oops, looking over the list in the artwork, there's one more small typo:

"Voyage of the Dawn Trader" should actually be "Voyage of the Dawn Treader"

Correct link working
I guess that most of the leechers are done downloading. I am consistently seeing an availability of less than 2.5 including my "1" of that "2.5"... I have one person downloading from me right now, and their link must be slow.

Maybe the world is ready for the next disc?

Where is the link to the torrent?

There will be 5 links eventually for the different segments and one final link to a full Blu-Ray disc.
All the links are on the first page starting on post #2

I am still seeding. Looks like there are "2 of 23" dL'ing from me. Fairly slowly though, ~250 kB/s.

I'll keep seeding until I need the bandwidth...

Thanks,
Cory

I meant do dis-respect. Sorry if it was taken that way. I just hadn't seen much in the way of people downloading from me. In the last 12 hours, I've shared a total of 57MB of it.

Again, I am sorry if you took my comment to be demanding in any way. I am absolutely not. I am being patient and still seeding.

I believe the exclamation points represented excitement, not anger. All is good in the hood...

The new disc is still limping towards getting it's initial seed group up and running, then I'm sure SL will post the list for the next part.

Wasn't my intention to sound, come across, confrontational, in the contrary like Kalani mentioned is the anticipation of having the new segment ready.

There are still a couple of leaches, sounds really bad but I guess that is the correct term, downloading the bass segment... I'll leave it up to others to continue seeding, although I'm still seeding that disc.

We still are a day or so away away from releasing the next disc.

Leeches is the slang, however "peers" is the politically correct term.

I'm still curious how all of you that have downloaded the Bass disc are overcoming the data transfer rate limitation of a standard DVD. The media just can't support the high bitrate of Blu-ray, whether or not your BD player supports AVCHD.
Or are most of you streaming from your PC or media player?

I'll have to wait for the full 50gb BD.

Close, "Leechers" is the correct term. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...3224743AA5GEky Refers to people who are downloading from the seeders (people with the whole file). Once they get the whole file, they become "seeders", too... and hopefully remain that way for a while, to be good netizens. Edit: Shadowcaster is correct, of course, that "peers" is the nicer term for leechers, but both are the same thing, in the end. I suppose the negative connotation of leechers may be due to the large numbers of people who DON'T re-seed, and simply grab and run... leeching off the goodwill of others rather than contributing back by continuing to seed after their download finishes.

I'm still seeding the part 1 disc (Bass), and others are still downloading it, so I'll leave that running for now, although I'm not going to bother taking it to the office for a speed boost at this point. Perhaps if the releases start to get more popular, but with the (relatively) low numbers at this point, it doesn't seem worth the effort.

The next part, disc 2, is still trickling out to the seed group... I'd agree with SL that at the pace I'm seeing, perhaps another day and we'll be ready. I may bring that one to the office to boost the initial push, once I have the full disc.

shadowchaster, playback simply depends on your player. My old Panny BD35 (oldest player I own) chokes and dies, while my Sony S570 (newer, but still a couple (few?) years old) plays it no problem. I just got a new TV, so I may be upgrading that old Panny soon, since I won't need the analog capabilities it offers anymore. I'll probably get a newer Panny (110 or 210), so it will be interesting to see if the newer players of the same brand do any better.
