A remainder; the downloaded file needs to be unpacked (unzipped) first before you can do anything with it.

Is there anything different about the instructions in the first post if you want to burn to Blu media?

Good. I just ordered an external Blu burner and some Blu and DVD media. I'll also use it to make family discs....I have nieces and nephews out the ying-yang. All Blu burners are also players yes?

Yes, but not all BD readers are burners.
Like the old saying that all dancing shoes are black, but not all black shoes are dancing ones.

For anyone who has downloaded and burned the full BD50 file onto Blu media........any advice on the process or tips from unpacking the torrent file to completing the burn? The media is expensive and I'd like to get it write on the first try if possible. I'm waiting on delivery of Blu burner and media.

Like these two parts:
- Determine which index files you need for your player.
- Replace index files and movieObject files if needed

Not sure exactly what that means or if I need to do anything there if I want to burn the full disc???

Unpacking the file alone will take from 20min up to over an hour depending on your type of processor. Once unpacked you'll have a folder with the BD structure ready to be used or burned. Changing the index files is relevant only to the individual segments and burning the content into DVD-DL media.

It has been mentioned before, not scientifically proven, that if you burn at a slower speed you reduced your chances of a bad burn (making coasters). I personally burn at 2x with no problems, but that is more of a personal preference and personal experience.

Thanks superleo. Is unpacking as simple as opening WinRAR and just selecting the BD50 file/torrent and then let it do it's thing?

Is it as easy as starting utorrent again? If so I can do that....I've already downloaded the full BD50. If not, tell me what I need to do and I'll be happy to.

Kevin,

Yes, I think you just need to open your uTorrent app and let it run. Look at the right of the downloaded file, right next to the file name and it should say seeding.

Thanks!!!

Is the file showing a "seeding" status?

Yup, and the upload speed is showing a solid 115-130 kB/s

It took me about 4 days to finish on my connection for the full BD50 file.

I was hoping to burn that disc in the next 5 minutes or so..............just kidding!!

Glad I'm doing it on my desktop PC (wired) and not on my laptop (wireless). It seems my desktop machine will be running for few days then...wink.gif

Thanks for the help Kevin, and hopefully other forum members will join this effort.

Cheers!

Ok, after 3 full days the file has been downloaded and now I'm currently seeding for those of you hoping to download it too.

Now, I will give it a try to burn it by sections on DVDs. Hopefully, I will be able to find a good deal on a BD burner on the net.

Cheers!

If you are definitely going to use DVDs, then you don't need a Blu burner. Dual layer DVDs and a DVD burner that will burn dual layer I think are all you'll need.

True!

Well, I'm thinking now only on burning a DVD for the bass demo. But, I would like to have everything in one single disc and therefore Bluray is the way to go.

BTW - what is the post number in which the instructions for DVD burn are listed?

Everything should be in the first post. If you have any questions beyond that, just post them and one of the fellas with the know-how will chime in.

If you have the BD50 Full file its the complete disc, all 5 segments and the top menu. However, you can not separate the segments from this file. If you want to burn to DVD DL, the individual segment files are required.

If you have all 5 segments... You can create the complete BD50 from these segments by downloading the "DIY BD50 from files" and following the instructions.

Alright, need some help.

Tried on two separate discs now, both the same.

I let imgburn format the disc itself, is that the issue? The folders (both BDMV and CERTIFICATE) were located and selected. Verify was selected. Instructions on page 1 were followed to a T (I think).

The discs do not play, nor are recognized by my HTPC (The data appears there, but nothing will play it). The discs show data amounts though as depicted.

What do I need to do different? This is my first time using a RW, I have burned ScubaSteves 2.0 demo thrice on non RW discs and a few other BD copies. Not totally new to Imgburn.

Each time Imgburn told me there was XXXXX miscompares which I knew was bad but didn't know what it means.

So, let me know what you guys think. All of the m2ts files play via J River Media Center when individually selected inside the STREAM folder......

What I've read about this error message is that there might not really be an error there.

Check if there are any firmware updates for your drive.
Use the latest Imgeburn version
Do not use verify

I would re do a full format check for the items above and re try.
I can't remember if I commented in this thread or not, but thank you SuperLeo for your hard work in putting this disc together. It is great and I ended up burning copies for my dad and brother so they can demo their systems as well. We all love it.

I know my ImgBurn version is an update old, and I'll retry like you suggest.

Thanks for the tips!

If you see no seeders is that most likely your router/port is set up incorrectly. Check your router port and run the test to assure that the client has connectivity.
